Aegis is missing as a set ban. I believe aegis/borg was > S2?

cloaking tractor mines would be another to add. they were > S2

This is a very good question. Limit to MK XI R consoles and what about actual gear? All MK XI/XII R/VR deflectors/engines/shields are all mostly cheap. IE, would a [CAPx3] MK XII resilent be banned since it wouldn't have been available?

Super awesome idea though love to see this actually get some momentum. I know I have several toons I haven't, or have barely started the rep on, so would certainly be game to
add them in for something like this.

Question is tho is the rep system allowed and if not how do the organizers know that and how do you suppose we shut if off if we want to make it without it?

i would hope it would be disabled and I would hope we could trust the integrity of the players. If not, perhaps there is something in logs that can verify at least some aspects of the rep?

You forgot Aegis for space sets.

Also, based on the other "up for discussion" ship options you should have the B'rel and Karfi (token options at one point), since you include like tier options on the Fed side. Though, personally I'd be no for all of those.

Also, you should have limit on carrier pets (green or white only, not sure what was round than).

Along the lines of Red Matter I'd disqualify batteries which effect more than one system and Red Matter Cap.

For rep skills, I'd disqualify toons w/the placate proc.

Was Deut around than? If not disqualify that as well?

It's too much to ask people to respec main's to drop Rep skills.

Which leaves asking people to make alts for just this play format, not sure it that would go over well either. Though, w/o Doffs/Rep/Fleet stuff it wouldn't take long to do, a weekend maybe.

Perhaps make a "classic only character" and do nothing with the rep systems on them?

Although I guess then the issue is the c-store ships and the super tweaked out mk xi [acc]x3 people like to charge extortionate amounts for...

The thing is, a few of the rep skills are just innate passives to a space/ground stat, like +30 weaps, +3% crit or +30 emitters. They're not a big deal in the scheme of things but it'd be terribly difficult to try and "police" their use.

Many good ideas.

Regarding the ships: I really wouldn't want to include the Karfi. The frigate pets are evil. And the Brel opens up possible problems with the enhanced battle cloak and permacloak tactics. In general the VA klingon ships (varanus, marauder, gurumba) introduced non-cloak mechanics which robbed the KDF of their identity, so I'm a bit hesitant there. The mirror qin and the vorcha would probably be okay I guess.
I definitely wouldn't want to have the Vulcan ship (pet spam!) and the MVAM (pet spam and LtC Sci on a non-Bop escort). Dreadnought is probably not a problem, but who would seriously fly that? The Excelsior and Nebula started the trend towards LtCs that did not match the ship class, so maybe they should be excluded?

Regarding Mk XII gear: I think Mk XII can be allowed. I don't really see a problem with people upgrading to Mk XII instead of old XI gear.

And I like my RMC! I want to keep it!

all stock RA ships, including additions like the vorcha R, and mirror ships. i remember when the vorcha R was introduced, that was an awesome day. wish i had thought to put a tac in one sooner then a year later.

things like the defiant, excelsior, nebula, they are mostly better ships then the more basic alternative, maybe best to do without any of those c store ships.

but perhaps allow the vanarus for kdf, its just a deep space sci with a worse shield mod.


cant do much about the passives, asking people to respec them off is asking to much. just dont use the tier 5 rom passive at all.

wow guys seeing so much in this topic!

personally I think rep system can't be avoided! don't need old school characters! let the free 2 players come have fun as they are

I will say though since the other tourney is going on still, this is the next future tourney and I will defiantly host this after the official one. this tourney will show skill not pay 2 win!

Since its not endorsed by cryptic! I will work out some kind of rewards for top 3 fleets

Work a proper rule system that's fair but old school!
