On the bright side I've heard that when STO starts focusing on the Delta Quadrant the Klingons are going to get Kazon and Starfleet the Ocompa. Talaxians will be a playable race as well, but I don't know for who, maybe both. If the Romulans are a faction by that time, they'll probably get the hurogen.
I thought the Hirogen were already planned as being part of the RSE from the beginning (meaning whenever the faction is created). There is already an in-game reason for them to be there. Sela made contact with them in exile and brought several ships/fleets over when she overthrew Taris.

Well, the Hirogen civilization was so nomadic that by the time of voyager they were scattered across the Delta AND Beta quadrants. Sela found a group of them who were living in the Beta Quadrant.

Choosing only three is terribly difficult, especially given the possibilities evident in the current list. Nonetheless, here are my choices...

1. Chalnoth
2. Anticans
3. Selay

Keeping in mind the culture and aesthetics of the Klingon faction, these species seem the best fit. They'd serve as fine subjects of the Empire. The Chalnoth, in particular, scream out as a necessary addition. There are also a number of runner-ups I was sorely tempted by, including the the Corvallen, the Markalians, the Sheliak, the Antedeans, and the Children of San-Tarah. Here's hoping we manage to see more than one of these species in the game at some point in the future.

'tis true, but they were both denied. What might they have done since? I'm sure the Empire would be willing to put up with their mutual bloodlust.

I would proposition to say xindi-reptillians and xindi-insectoids should become seperatist colonial allies to the imperial empire, whilst the xindi-arboreals and xindi-primates act as the only members of the xindi council, after a coup d'etat comes to threaten to split the acting parties on the matter of settling on a new homeworld: in namesake to be called Xindus III.

It would open up the xindi-reptillians/xindi-insectoids to the empire, but keep the canon knowledge that the 'xindi' (now consisting of just the xindi-arboreals/xindi-primates) are part of the federation. On the other hand, the xindi-aquatics would be neutral in this conflict- because they are slow, indecisive and value both sides qualities. Sounds fair and good, no?

My only other wish or idea for a playable species in the klingon defense force is the swarm delta quadrant species, witnessed in the Star Trek Voyager episode: The Swarm. It's a long shot, I know, but they might just pass over the galactic core into the alpha quadrant after being on the run from the borg's advances- which has been noted to have increased in STO.

Why they would have joined the imperial empire? I'm not sure. Perhaps their remaining fleet was captured and made a vassal state in their weakened state. Or maybe they valued the imperial empire's aggressive-defense of it's territory? offered to employ some of their hives to reinforce the empire's borders in exchange for protection against the borg threat? could work.

or the Son'a, although thats really only to try and get their ships in as well.
I agree with the above plus the AVIANs would be so cool as well as the ANTICANS to offset the balance created by those cats in game....
