So, we can't really ever use the crews we all know and love from television and film, without some very clever workarounds. It's all legal mumbo jumbo a hippie like me doesn't even care to attempt to understand.
But I know and accept I will not get to add Picard and LaForge, or Julian Bashiir or any of the characters that have likeness rights tied up with them.
But there is a crew.
A crew of an Enterprise.
A crew whose likeness rights aren't tied up anywhere.
