This. A thousand times this. PuGs on elite will make you facepalm. Repeatedly. Until you have a red mark and flat spot on your forehead.

Now my issue is this is end game content why is it so easy... I want a challenge, the only challenge I get anymore is in pvp and even then a good match is few and far between. I'm making a plead to the devs to make STF's real end game content like they used to be combine both ground and space STF's so you have to do both in conjunction or at the same time. And make the Borg like real Borg. A threat! Right now all STF's are just a grab at points and not a challenge.
You do have noob way of think! Shame on you.

Could I remind you they didn't make the game for you and only you?
Usually I really don't care what an arrogant veteran with the best gear and the best team is able to say. But you!... OMG!
Let me tell you this. My new toon has not Omega set nor KHG set nor all of mkXII purple stuff neither. So in this case eSTF are little bit hard.

You should make a new toon and re run all of episodes from scratch. Maybe you would remind how eSTF can be hard if you have not any good gear nor good ship nor good team neither.

As long as there is a measuring contest going on....

Pugging an eSTF or running with inexperienced fleeties is the way to go.... you can only be considered a bad@$$ if you can compensate for at least one player who is AFK or a complete idiot and still get the optional.

Honestly running in a team is boring... pugging is better...
  • First you must have a life. This allows you to play with people who may not fully grasp the strategy to beat the STF you are playing without nerd raging. Not following the 10% rule or blowing the left gate right away... that just makes it more rewarding when you still get the optional. Which is still mind blowingly easy in Khitomer space and Infected space.
  • Without running your mouth... you see what's not being done and you get it done. It requires you to look around and think and since your not playing with the same set of goons every time... it's dynamic and not boring.
  • Of course this approach to fun requires you to be able to bring the DPS.... like 4 maybe 5k over the life of the stf.... 10 or 11k per encounter and 25k spike...

725 x 102 (or current exchange rate) DL = 73950 DL <- can you earn that per hour in game?

I agree that the current elite content could be more challenging. Your best completion times are similar to mine, so i wouldn't say you're a liar a someone else stated.

We could definitely use a 3rd difficulty level, scaled to our endgame gear and ships. I'm not sure the "old" stfs would make sense since new epic gear has been released since then.

But guys, seriously, stop telling him that he should play stfs in pugs, with a RA ship and white equipment. People like him (and like myself) will do all they can to be achievers, which means it makes no sense to us to use poor and inefficient strategies, low-end gear or ships and so on. I know we are a minority but harder STFs shouldn't be a great deal since they already exist.

What could a 3rd difficulty level look like? Not just more DPS or hull, but healing abilities, more science abilities, more tactical ones, some cross-healing on npcs.

The only real challenge is the no win scenario, but the hardest part is to find a team willing to train for a month or so to beat it, and peoplelike that are extremely rare.

It's not particularly difficult. A single decent pilot can pull enough DPS to get optionals. If you are failing in pugs, and especially if you are a tactical or fly an escort or carrier, you really need to look at yourself as part of the problem.

It isn't so much the lack of DPS with PUGs as the utter and total lack of communication or coordination. DPS is fine, apart from the occasional carebear cruiser or skittlescort.

I so agree with lewstelamon01.

For new players, the STF's remain challenging and difficult. If you doubt this, try going back to normals for a while with downgraded weapons and shields.

As an elite player (I use this term ever so loosely), team STF's are not meant to be challenging. They are there for 1 thing - the grind until something new comes along.

If you're looking for something else to challenge you - try the Foundry.

Agreed with the OP

The STFs needs a Legendary difficulty, with double rewards and double difficulty.

I love the Irony of this post.

You just want them to give the AI more cheats, you have no interest in actually thinking about what a proper challenge would be.

As for the 3 hour STF's of old some of us have jobs and a life.

kthnx.

As someone who plays ground stfs on a regular basis, I can guarantee that you will be screaming for an easy option. It may be easy in space stfs, but ground stfs are a whole different ballgame.
