If your a tactical captain Quantum all the way IMO APalpha fomm HY and other tactical factors can make a quantum deadly plus your not aimlessly spamming destructible torps everywhere

When a quants on its way it's on it way

True, I do more strafing/torp runs obviously in a tac/escort combo, I was just curious.

What is better for a Tac stick with photon(borg) or use the omega torpedo?

You know the Omega torps aren't destructible, right? I don't know how they interact with tac captain abilities, but they work fine with tac boff abilities, starting an 8 second cooldown in which they have plenty of time to reload the magazine. Now I'm not 100% sure which is actually better, that would take detailed parsing, probably against static targets, but I believe each Omega torp has similar damage to a Quantum, counting both the initial and fire damage, and has a much higher fire rate. On the other hand, Omega torps are currently buggy, sometimes using as many as 4 from the magazine with a single shot.

The Rommie Torp fires High Yields by default (called heavy ... which is the same thing) which is why they, like all other high yields, can be shot down. If you use High Yield with the Omega Torp, it can be shot down also.

To answer the OP:

I really, really, really like the Omega Torp on my Armitage, because with rapid fire nature of it, I can stick it on autofire and just worry about timing my Spread. It refills its charges so quickly I almost never have to think about managing it. The three piece set bonus is also very helpful!

One other consideration about the Romulan Torp: This torp can actually really cause problems in certain situations, such as ISE. I've seen more gens blown early because of these torps than any other reason including pet spam. If you do choose this torp, please make sure you aren't recklessly firing it in those type of situations!!! Other than that it's a great torp and quite a finisher if used correctly!

I learned quickly that with the Rommie Hyper-torp, you need to stop earlier, if going for 10% then hold fire at 20%, 25% if you have more than one chain of 3 "in the air", and 30%-35% if you've got to convince runabouts that they need to hold fire...
Well, with the upgrade announcement leaving NX and Connie fans in the dust again, can we restart / revisit the T5 Connie and NX threads - since they will no longer be "truly" endgame ships... (after we get the T5 versions, it'll be time to see them added to the T5U upgrade charts too...

My omega torp seems to jam up and not fire when auto fire is engaged anyone else find that

In my previous post I meant the high yield version of the torps and both he omega and romulan torps when in high yield mode can be shot down and with most people using kinetic cutting beam they can be shot down with ease
