Here's my questions:

- Maybe I'm just tired, but I had to reread that last paragraph a couple times. So if I'm a Lt Cmdr and I need to spend X skill points to be offered a promotion, does it count if I spend those points on Lt skills or just Lt Cmdr skills? Can I even go back and spend points on skills in the lower ranks?

- What is the primary mechanism for earning skill points? Will these be awarded by Episodes and kills like experience in CO? Or will these be awarded for acting in a fashion in accordance with my faction?

- If I'm ok with progressing very slowly, can I max out a character in all the skills in my profession or can I only spend so many points in each rank before I have to move on?

- Are the skills the same for Klingons and Federation or does each have it's own set?

- Would it be possible to see a draft list of the skills?

- Is it possible for an engineer to buy some skills from another profession (medicine maybe?) at a higher cost similar to cross-class skills in D&D 3rd Ed?

- Are there any inate skills common to all professions?

- Someone already asked this, but what are the ranks for Klingons? Are they different?

Say that I team up with four other friends and I now only have one guy to send down for combat on a planet. WIll I acquire the same amount of skill points with my one guy then if I were to have 5 of my own guys on a planet?

Pressing questions as noted in earlier posts some mentioned before, others not so much:

Is it possible to max out everything if not what could be expected?

Is there anything in place to keep an admiral interested in progressing their character?

What time frame is one expected to take to reach 'admiral'?

How will there be higher ranks in future expansions, or will it always be 'admiral'?

If it will always be 'admiral' at the top, will expansions include additional skills to learn in place of higher ranks?

I'd like to see the klingon naming convention for ranks.

Are klingon skills going to be slightly different, or very different from federation skills. What about playable races in the future, will they have 'unique' skills if/when they become playable?

It's a lot of questions, but i'm sure a lot of information will come out.

Is there a respec ability?

This is a good idea, and i think it will be fun to have ranking structure that will help with groups of people, you can outrank someone and be the person to sorta take command of things. but i'm sure in the future there will be more ranks added on but how will it affect you if you are a captan and the new ranks come in, will you be demoted to a lower rank and take on what comes ahead or will you just keep going from that point and take the new ranks as they come.

Playing NWN2 again, it's good to see a skill system coming along.

To learn new skills or new skill sets would we need to visit a "trainer", like one does WoW for example, to obtain those new skills? In terms of trainer I'm thinking a major starbase or training facility e.g. the Vulcan Science Academy.

This is something that I was curious about as well after reading the primer on player progression. I know other online games require training and such, but will it be present in Star Trek Online or will a player automatically learn their new skills without having to do anything in addition to gaining the prerequisites for said skills?

Hi, thanks for the great information. My question, are there lvl requirments for the mishions? Meaning the higher the lvl mishion the more skill points you earn, and is it possible to build up skill points and spend them all at once, or even trade them in for prestiege for BO's and things? Thankyou for reading.

*In space, will ship configurations occupy multiple tiers? Can one player be flying a tier 2 Defiant configured vessel while another flies a tier 4 vessel in the same configuration, or will all players flying a tier 4 ship be flying ships of the same configuration?

*Can players that choose to scan heavenly bodies, etc. on their own accord be awarded with skill points, or will skill points only be awarded for completed missions?

*Do ships have their own branching skill trees? Will an escort receive any reward for completing a science mission such as scanning a nebula? Will combat - outside of self defense - offer any incentives for a science or engineering vessel to participate?

*It was said that once a player invest a certain number of skill points they will be 'offered' a promotion. Will players automatically get promoted or can they hold off on accepting the promotion? If it's possible to wait, is there some benefit to doing so?

*Will there be any universal skills that all career paths share that are not related to the chosen career path?

*Does the rank system work the same for bridge officers? Are skill points awarded to be invested in bridge officers? Does the Captain and bridge officers share the same pool of points? Or do the skills of officers remain unchanged until the player grants them a promotion?

*Is their some benefit to waiting until your character is maxed out before accepting a promotion to Admiral rather than becoming Admiral while half-developed? When assigned missions from Starfleet/KDF does the game pay attention to rank or invested skill points when assigning a mission of reasonable difficulty?
