Those people are jerks who should be ashamed for behaving in that fashion.

The people on these forums are generally friendly and will freely give out information, so don't hesitate to ask for any details.

Now as for information on prospective escort builds, I would suggest reading this thread:

Also don't hesitate to /channel_join OrganizedPvP, and ask people there. Although I would recommend a more specific set of questions asked in a thread format on this forum instead. You're likely to get more replies that way.

the answer is PVP isnt for casuals, it never is. since its the only part of the game that truly challenges you, you need to be as dedicated as the average good player. its not that hard to be 'dedicated' ether

theres always people that talk smack, they are not welcome here and are berated be us, the pvp community.

Yup. Challenges you with broken weapons, abilities, queues...

And no, PvP is not hard nor truly challenging. It's just frustrating yo yo between you ending on better team and stomping opposition or the other way around. With AFKers in between.

You can say that challange comes with premades/pugmates or with OPvP. But then you are PvPlayer and dedicate yourself to PvP mostly. Which is kinda sad (not dedication, but the state of casual PvP in STO).

I've tried watching them fight others, watching and writing down their buffs as they appear, but something never seems to add up. I can get those same buffs on my escort, but it is still goes boom quickly.
Changing power settings helps immensely. I for one though am far too lazy for such things.

PVP is not so bad. Sure all of the bad things that have been brought up in this thread do happen but they are not the norm. You win some you lose some. Sometimes it hurts real bad when some tool starts in after exploding my ship but those guys are few and far between.

I have been around and played pvp in every STO season, took some time off to change my build and grind stf s, now that I am queing up again I think it is fun.

Cryptic will one day invest some time into pvp gameplay and then this game will be epic. Epic I say.
