Thanks SO MUCH for all your support, and we'll see you in-game!
This can be a -really fun game-, if you treat it as just that; A game.
If you try to take a game like this one too seriously, you miss out on the fun that really can be had in it. So keep on griping about how much STO sucks, because I'll be RPing, casually PVPing, and occasionally running STFs with my buddies right up until the day the servers finally shut down. ^^
I must say, the early reviews of this game as a "bug-ridden, piece of garbage" don't at all reflect the current state of the game. It's a wonderful creation.
At launch that's exactly what it was! Still had Champion's Online graphics for items lol
It's come a l-o-n-g way since then and I'm glad! Love the space combat, the doff system, the new content (!!!). Fleet starbases made the game MUCH more social. Since PWE took over ...well, thanks for making a so-so game so much better, kudos.
It is a fun game, it's only a game, and users should be aware of the addictive qualities of technology when managing their time spent in the game. Also, I believe too much time and money are required for the periodic bonus rewards. The drop rate for rewards such as the recent HEC should be doubled, AND the cost of keys should be cut in half immediately. Perfect World of CHINA is drawing a lot of CASH directly from AMERICA via this game. STARFLEET!
I like it very much have been here since beta minus a brief rest period where I got to play DCUO and some other betas. Came back one day not expecting much and was sucked right back in lol can't even remember when its been so long.
However unless things grab hold of me soon after the anniversary I have been thinking of restricting my time in game even more. Maybe takeing another break

One should always do this with their entertainments in order to keep it fresh. I left for S6 and came back for S7. I've little do do in S7, and unless S8 has more for me than Targ tagging and Fleet stuff, I'll probably wait it out until S9.

It's Star Trek! That peaked my interest from the moment I first heard about the game.
What's most positive to me, is that the developers care about the game.
My favourite thing to do for the past year has been to make videos of the game and share them (see previous posts), and I have to say that New Romulus has been my favourite recent addition to the game.
My favourite ship to fly has to be my Galaxy/Venture hybrid, because it looks so Next Gen.
I would like to see more Adventure Zones added (and they apparently are), and have properly developed interiors where I can place my bridge officers in the seats I choose.
All in all, this game is a dream come true for me, and if all those years ago when I was watching Picard and crew on TV, and Kirk and crew on the movies someone would have told me that one day soon I would be able to create my own crew and ship and send them off on adventures I would have scarcely believed it!
I remember when the concept was first announced in 2000/2001 (??), and the original company went bust. i was very disappointed.
Then in I think early 2010, probably right around launch of the new STO... took me a few weeks to get going... external issues cropped up... then got my subscription in April.
Loved the game then... I've played a couple of Star Trek games, but they always left me wanting more. this, allowed me to create a character with skills (something I missed from my tabletop RPG days), customize a starship and fly it!
I was amazed and enthralled.
Played straight for ten months... then was forced to leave the game... more of those external issues... came back in July of 2012, but always keeping an eye on the game.
Played F2P when I came back, and really loved everything that was done with the game. Reactivated my subscription and this has been my only game ever since.
I can't pinpoint any one thing about the game I love, except for that it is Star Trek. It might not have a lot of what the franchise had... exploration and such. But there is enough to satisfy me for now.
I got into the Fleet system, run my own little fleet, even have a Tier1 starbase, and working on T2. I have about 12 characters, including my original one. three of which are VAs... but don't mind, I am enjoying playing some them thought he story missions again as different careers.
Loved the Winter Wonderland... thought that was really nice. Can't wait for the 3rd anny event. Missed the 2nd, and really did not partake the 1st. Very disappointed about that.
Soory for the wall of text... but to answer the OP question... YES! I do love this game...
