Destroyers and escorts.

Its very much Cryptics fault from not buffing Beams making the game Escorts Online due to the DHCs dominance coupled by the fact the best ships to use then is also almost all Escorts or Battlecruisers with high turn rate, coupled with the nerfs to science ....

The Ambassador's a slightly slower turning Sci variant of the Excelsior (a C-Store ship) so if you play Sci or want a Gravity Well/Viral Matrix/whatever on your Eng/Tac then it's a nice option - certainly more interesting than the no-frills RA ships available for free in-game.

The Kamarag's a similar alternative to the Vor'cha or K't'inga retrofits KDF-side - with DHCs and perhaps an RCS Accelerator or two it'll do some decent DPS and be pretty tanky.

Neither ship is going to be that exciting if you're already flying a C-Store or Fleet ship but as an alternative to what's currently available for free, they're both really good.

I love them both. Love how they did the stats and bridge officers slots. I was thinking the Ambassador would went more science, but it went tactical. So this will give me a sweet ship. I really love seeing this. Can't wait to do the mission and get my Capt. into her. Later if many don't keep using the Ambassador as the newness wears off. You will still see mine coming back home from another mission. I tend to keep mine going for a long time. Since I always been a huge fan of the ship. Since "Yesterday's Enterprise."

The KDF ship, I love how it looks. I was wanting the K'T'inga to use at T5. But it went "Fleet" instead. And thus removed my chances for it. Which I was not very happy about. With this, it will give me a version of that classic ship. So this is worthy to me as well. I'm looking forward to have this ship as well.

Many thanks STO for an awesome gift. I will use it well!

these are good ships, and will be useful. i only hope a fleet version isnt far behind though, i want to use these, but the lack of console, and the bit antiquated shield mod and hull hitpoints simply puts them at a disadvantage to every fleet and lock box ship option

the ody is a good healer, but to hav a LTC sci, you also are stuck with an LT sci too, and minimal eng powers. these ships lets you have most eng, and still a powerful sci. this is a beter spread of powers for a healer.

the ambassador stats make the galaxy R look real bad, as if it needed help doing that. more then ever it needs a fair shake. at LEAST a universal ENS station on the fleet version, at LEAST!!. 5 eng consoles, no thanks, 3 tac please. the galaxy in canon is about twice the size (volume) and twice as powerful as an ambassador, they should at least break even in game.

I have 3 KDF characters, thank you very much, all at max level, and firepower is NOT what I was lamenting in that post. I want to just be able to TURN MY SHIP as well as I can the equivalent KDF ship.

That is all.

My point in my original post was that the KDF lose basically NOTHING to get 150% the turn rate. Let alone the cannons and cloak. it's the TURN RATE, that is the issue to me.

Sheesh.

If the KDF can get a Fleet D7 (That can be upgraded to a T5-U), the Feds should have a Fleet Exeter.

Hmmmm, I may pick one up on my main. but it will be relegated to "Gather dust" duty.

I like free ships, but i am not really a cruiser Captain.....
