# 1 [Acc] vs [Dmg]

I was wondering what your opinions were on [Acc] versus [Dmg] on energy weapons and what you have seen in game play. At first glance I want to craft the [Dmg]x2 or [Dmg]x3 but my second thought is [Acc] [Dmg].

I am talking DC, DHC. Beam Arrays, and turrets. Right now I am looking at upgrading my Tac/Escort but my Eng/Cruiser will soon be ready as well.

[acc] should be in your first priority. That says, if you don't have accuracy then your powerful shots might have a higher chance to go wasted.
Grinding for MkIV epic gear?

Plus accuracy is never wasted, as it'll overflow into CritX.

Order of importance goes (I think)...
Acc > CrtH > CrtD > Dmg

If you're Tac, I think the CrtH and CrtD can be swapped, your powers give you a boost in CrtH so go for the extra damage boost.
Sometimes I think I play STO just to have stuff to rant about on the forums!

It is a bit more complicated than that. The order of the first 3 swap around based on target and the rest of your build. Even CrtH and CrtD swap places at times. DMG is pretty much always last though.

The real issue with [Dmg] on space weapons is that it is kinda pathetic... It gives a very small boost to the actual damage done...

The real issue with all of the boosts are that they are tiny. Accuracy included.
