Just curious,.. how does Mobius (or Wells) or a Recluse stand against each other for a Science Officer?
I am really tempted to try to trade a Repulse with a Mobius.. simply because I like the look of the ship and I want to do some RP with a timeship.
But how does these ships compare in STF etc?
Note that the Mobius is an Escort, and the Wells is a Science Vessel, and play differently.
The Mobius is by some arguments the 2nd-best Escort in the game next to the Bug, mainly by dint of the flexibility afforded from having 2 universal Boff stations giving it a lot more tactics, and having some strong synergies with the Temporal Warfare Lobi set and using the Wells' console (for players who own both). However the ship's unique console is tantamount to a suicide button if used in anything other than normal-difficulty standard missions.
The Wells is a science vessel, and while it won't push out the same raw numbers as a Vesta due to lack of cannons, it plays nicer with the Temporal Warfare Set (which is a beam/torp/console combo) and has a great, really cool-looking console ability.
The Recluse is a Carrier, and some say it's the best heal/support/crowd control boat in the game. Looks very unique, has some interesting gimmicks.
That said the play styles aren't really comparable to the timeships, so I guess if you want a carrier, you'll stick with the Recluse, especially since it's certainly better than the Atrox, which is the only other carrier available to Fed players (not including the Jem Dreadnought).
As for how they compare in STFs, since STFs is balanced in favor of escorts you'll probably see better results flying a Mobius. Carriers require a bit of tricky tactics when you're playing Elite STFs (like reining in your pets so as not to pop generators early in Infected), but they do OK as well. Same with Science vessels.
Ultimately it comes down to your personal playstyle.
