On my main, I have a Mobius, Wells, Aeon, and all the associated Lobi accessories. That represents a lot of sold doffs and other resources to put together. I've been happy with my finished product, but I feel like I built it up to be a lot more in my head than what I ended up with. That said, I see the specs on the new Jem'Hadar heavy escort carrier, and it seems to be a better ship on paper: More hull strength, more crew (not that that seems to have a huge affect, but maybe someday it will), carrier abilities (I haven't ever used a carrier, but I can see how that might be fun), and the Gamma maneuver.

So before I go blowing millions of EC on another ship, can I get some thoughts and feedback on the Jem HEC so far? I'd really like to hear from folks who have both ships, but any constructive input would be helpful.

Also, I'm guessing since it has the custom Jem'Hadar bridge, there's no changing that, right? I didn't know that was a thing with lockbox ships until I got the Mobius. While the bridge is pretty, sometimes I miss the option of having all my Boffs on deck.

Thanks all

Which ship are you currently using primarily? Mobius? It certainly isn't in the same style as either of them. It has minimal sci capabilities (so not a sci ship like the Wells), and only a Comm tac (so not an escort like the Mobius). What it really is is a light cruiser that's tac heavy. If that's what you want, well and good, if not, you don't want it.

I use the Mobius. I suppose I fly as kind of a supporty escort. If I'm holding my own firing volleys and spreads, I'll TSS or aux2SIF to those in need. I don't have any issues in elite STFs short of a really bad PUG, and I don't PvP, so maybe I should just stick with what I already have, but it's so damn temping looking from the pics and stats.

It's basically the escort counterpart to the Tor'Kaht with a hangar bay added... the Tor'Kaht is the cruiser that pretends it's an escort, the JH HEC is an escort that pretends it's a cruiser.

When you say it's an escort that pretends it's a cruiser, do you mean that it performs neither well or that it's better than a pure escort?

No it isnt. Its a Battlecruiser with a hanger.

It has Battlecruiser hull, shields, turn rate and more Engineering slots than Tactical.

The fact that it is called a Heavy Escort Carrier is downright miss-leading. Its a Battlecruiser - Carrier hybrid.

That depends on what you use the uni slot for. If you put a tactical in it, the Jemmy only has 1 ensign tac less than an Armitage (and nothing needs 3 ensign tacs). Only problem is you're left with just 1 sci slot if you do that.

I would probably use it as a Sci slot. I agree with not needing the third ensign Tac. That's what turns me off to a lot of ships is three ensign slots devoted to a given career. I wish they would make ensign boff slots on higher tier ships Uni.
