My favourite ship on my main Tac is my Fleet Defiant. Outfitted with Elite Fleet Shields, Accx2 CrtH Disruptors, Trico mines and a Transphasic torp. It doesn't matter what ship i'm flying it isn't as good or as comfortable to fly as my Defiant. Plus i get 5 Tac consoles to play with
My Armitage has its fun in Free Dilithium Hour, aka The Mirror Incursion...
My Vesta is a fun occasional toy, but as an Engineer I don't seem to be using it to its potential...
...but for exploration missions, fleet defenses, doffing, and general flying-about-the-galaxy, it's my Tactical Odyssey with Advanced fleet weapons, MK XII MACO set, and veteran skin that is my "main" ship.
it is my Aventine. I like the new Ambassador, and loved testing it out, but it did not last long, when I just wanted to go back to my Vesta. was the same with the fleet advanced escort. I was grinding for a bit for that ship, with my Vesta, so I can play around in the ship creator, and do some stfs with it, before I just went back to my MMRE
I am saddened to say this, but my Odyssey is starting to lose it's spot as the "ship I always return to". It is being rather quickly replaced by my new Imperial-Class FACR. She ain't the prettiest girl at the dance, but she certainly turns a head or two. Especially after she opens fire and actually does pretty nasty damage. Sufficed to say, that girl can REALLY give EVERYTHING hell. I used to not use cruisers in CSE (simply because the damage requirements are too high), but now, I run her there and don't feel bad at all. She does more than enough damage to not only complete that mission with optionals, but excel at it as well.
Still love my Oddy though XD.
It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once.
This is tough given I usually just cycle through all the ships I have a build for.
But maybe there is one ship, the 2 year anniversary Odyssey. I was leveling my first toon taking successively cruisers at each tier (What else, in a Star Trek game?) and that Odyssey sitting in a crate in my bank was the last step to achieve, beyond the Sovereign.
Also the oddy didn't deceive me, it felt far superior to the assault. Maybe also because I stepped in it at about the same time I seized the "rules" of space combat. It was just the first ship I played in decently, if I may say so. And I still consider it a very, very solid ship.
So the Odyssey it is.
(If only I could say the same for the Bortas. That ship never grew on me. Guess I'll have to try the Bortas'qu at some point.)
I have three mains: the two guys in my sig and a Fed Sci. They each have their own favorite ships.
Adm. LaRoca, my Fed Tac, will never part with his Akira/Armitage. He uses the Defiant Retro and Tac Ody from time to time, and occasionally the Breen boat, depending his mood and the mission, but at least 75% of the time he's in good ole' USS Tiburon. (This may change once I've saved up enough EC to buy him that Galor he's always wanted.)
Gen. Ssharki, the Gorn Engineer, will always have the Tac Bortasqu' IKS Norgh'a'Qun as his flagship. But lately he's fallen in love the new Kamarag Retro. I see him splitting his time between these two ships for the forseeable future. But if you held a phaser to his head and told him to pick one, I'd suspect he'd go back to the Norgh'a'Qun, just because it's bigger, meaner, and tougher.
Sander, the science officer, has an Intrepid Retro and a Nebula Retro that he splits his time between. I'm waiting for the next C-Store ship sale to buy him an Atrox. I think his favorite would have to be the Intrepid (actually a Bella/Trep/Disco hybrid) the USS Ray Bradbury.

As I level all of my toons do Hope class at commander just cuz no one else is.
I picked up and built a Hope/Horizon hybrid for my Sci toon, but then I looked over at the Nebula and fell for that sucker hard. I shelled out the zen and blasted through Cdr. rank way too fast with that ship, and then got the Sci boat I was really after: the Intrepid. I still have that funny-looking bubbleship in my dockyard though, and I use her occasionally to sector-hop for DOff missions. Maybe if and when I can be bothered to join up with another fleet I'll build him a Fleet refit.
And then my Fed engineer toon just reached commander as the three-year anniversary came up, so even though he has a Hope-class too he's off in his new Ambassador-class and not looking back.
