I realy enjoy the show, ya'll do a great job, and the pvp information is very good, but for those who play fairly, there are so many pvp players who have hacked the system, and it is obviose that they have, when they can easily kill you in less then 2 seconds, this happens so much and is why alot of people dont play pvp, I have had lots of people complain about this, and i know people gonna say well you just dont know how to play pvp, but when people dont have time to activate any ability what does that tell you. I will be the first to admit I suck at pvp lol, but I am a decent player of the game, and any pvp i play i know i am going to loose and that doesnt bother me, what bothers me is all these almost instance kills, and as i said earlier what i consoder and almost instant kill is when some one kills you in less then 2 second, I am not trying to stir up trouble or fussing would just like for cryptic to look into these things.
Yeah that was my last experience with ground PVP too. Enemies saw me and killed me with one single shot. I was in a full Mk XII STF set. And they did that 10 times in a row without fail, so it can't have been lucky crits. I don't think hacks are involved, just overpowered buffs/debuffs, but regardless of why it happens, it's just no fun whatsoever in that form to me.
Still some good info in the show that I'll take into PvE ground combat too. Didn't know it was possible to get to practically 100% dodge.
Any PVP system in any MMO that allows instakill ability is an unbalanced and poor PVP system. Period. This is why while PvP is fun for as long as buff timers are down, when they are up and ready to rock, few people really care to be on the receiving end of it. I'd be willing to wager several bars of GPL that every player mutters or screams profanities every time they are downed in a blink of an eye without any chance of defense. You can say what you want but it is a high probability that we all hate this element of PvP, and we have several ways to justify it's existence, but the bottom line is it just really sucks, period. As long as PvP stays status quo it will remain a very small part of STO.
Again, Cryptic must split PvP from PvE or PvP is a wasted opportunity for STO.

Regarding oneshots in ground PvP: It's possible for anyone to do them on demand and efficiently with enough practice, but it still feels pretty dumb. I'd rather put out pressure damage that keeps people on their toes or denies entry into an area, rather than put out so much burst damage that nothing short of a selfish tank medic can stop it.
Hopefully upcoming balance passes by Borticus will solve some of the outlying issues, but PvP will still be quick and painful to the uninitiated. It takes practice and know how to succeed.
