With steadily improving starbase and embassy facilities, and an increasing and active membership, Sol Trade Consortium is an established fleet with something to offer hard-core and casual players alike.
We're a fleet with a casual organization - all you need to do is log on to the game and say "hi" once in a while, though we'd certainly like to see you in our fleet activities, too! We hold regular events for training and live practice in STF elites, and we have hard-core players who'll show you how to handle those with ease. And there are informal calls for group events at any time in our lively chat channel, from STFs to epohh tagging to spontaneous partying at the embassy.
Above all, we're here to help each other out. Even our long-time VAs with plenty of experience remember what it was like to be new and baffled, so you can ask for help or advice on any subject, and be sure of getting a helpful response. Want opinions on the best load-out for a Chimera Heavy Destroyer? We can do that. Want to know how to find Admiral Quinn? We can do that too.... Members, after an initial probation period (just to weed out the bank raiders!) have access to a well-stocked bank and well-provisioned bases, and even if you're still a new recruit, you can often find someone online who'll help out with supplies and equipment. (In keeping with the "Trade" bit, quite a few officers have Tuffli freighters, and can assist with the facilities those offer.)
What don't we do? Well, we try to keep group chat clear of contentious subjects (politics, religion, "adult" matters), and, while we've nothing against roleplaying, we try not to have heavy interpersonal Drama. And, though we don't require people to be over eighteen, we do ask for a little maturity... whatever your age.
But, in the end... we're here to have fun. And if you'd like to come have some fun with us, we'd love to have you.
Still here, still open for business - still, in fact, growing; chat channels positively overflowing with helpful discussions of how best to wipe out the Borg in STFs, along with the usual entertaining chatter.
Recent recruitment means, of course, new resources coming into the Fleet projects; the link-up between the starbase and the embassy has proved wonderfully useful, and we are looking forward to the imminent completion of our Tier 4 shipyard. (And, miracle of miracles, it remains well-stocked.)
Chat channels are up and running, so we can talk to the Klinks... and, no doubt, soon to the Romulans as well. Will wonders never cease?
There's still room, though, for fresh blood! (Red, green, or proper Andorian blue - we don't discriminate. )
The last couple of upgrades have seen a bunch of us gather at the Embassy or the Starbase to watch them happen... rather impressive, seeing the roof of the Embassy suddenly open up, or the under-construction starbase blink out to be replaced by the finished deal.
The completion of the Embassy isn't far off, now - the last diplomatic upgrade is in completion mode, the recruitment upgrade is scheduled after that, and then there's nothing left but Tier 3. Big events are being planned to mark the occasion - details forthcoming nearer the date!
(None of this is relevant, really, to people who aren't in the fleet. But, of course, you can be in the fleet. That's sort of the point of the recruitment thread, I guess.)
Tier 3 diplomatic facilities (mostly, a big fireplace) now in place at the Embassy... tier 3 recruitment is grinding slowly away (a bit over a week before completion). Once this is done, the push will be on to reach the full T3 embassy! Prodigious debaucheries, or at least special events, are being planned for this particular milestone.
The starbase, too, continues to make progress, with the T4 communications array just a gnat's whisker from being completed. (Well, OK, this particular gnat has whiskers made of 100k+ dilithium... but, it's nearly there, trust me on this.)
In among all this talk of facilities... we're still doing training events, we're still keeping those facilities well-stocked, and - in among all the inconsequential chatter - we're still dishing out actual help and advice on the in-game chat channels. One recent member was moved to point out, after asking a question on something, that he'd received an answer which was a) prompt, b) correct, and c) did not involve him being called a n00b for asking. Which is the sort of thing we're actually here for. Well, that and having fun in the game.
