*Preston is speaking with D'rix in his quarters about the current situation*

Preston: Yes if I know Sam the rebel leaders won't be there..

D'rix: She is a cunning woman.. but doesn't have enough plan for this. Do you really want to make peace with them?

Preston: They will have to acknowledge me, so yes I do..

*Gyunei enters the room*

Preston: Has everything been prepared in the necessary order?

Gyunei: They have been sir. From what our spy tells us they are not all appearing.. there only via holo communications..

Preston: Hmm how taciturn of them..

Gyunei: But do not fret sir we have come to the problem aptly.. The traitor plans to show his true colors.

Preston: Good. Have him ready and divulge to us.

Gyunei: Your will my hands.

Preston: About the Baron Gyunei.. Do we have him in custody?

Gyunei: Kela has taken him in and what do you have in mind sir?

Preston: He will serve his purpose keep him at Angel Halo. He will serve the plan..

Gyunei: Very well sir.

D'rix: Gyunei has the traitor arrived here yet..

Gyunei: He is right out side..

*Emil enters the room*

Emil: I have been summoned ?

D'rix: Yes.. Tell me have you learned of the location of the rebel leaders.. and all of their hiding places?

Emil: I have mam.. I was told to set it up.

Preston: For all of them... ?

Emil: Yes sir. We had to work together... in that department..

Preston: Good.. Give all the coordinates to Gyunei and suit up yourself.. You will be handling one of mind.

D'rix: You both may go set up the orders.. Have Tal send a battle group to dispose of the other.

*Matt sees them and joins them.*

Matt: Captains. Good news, we don't have any pursuers from the planet. We're now en route to Starbase 589 to drop of the survivors. They're equipped with the medical facilities and replicator facilities needed to treat Admiral Hood and the rest of the camp survivors.

They're going to be in the best of hands. Doctor Blakefield practically invented the Nanite Health Monitor Republic forces use today. If she can't kill those nanites, no one can.

*Sam is walking around the Station. It's been abandoned since a battle during the Shadow War destroyed Station Life Support. Since the station was already nearly 200 years old, Starfleet didn't bother repairing it.

There's an eerie feeling as Sam walks through the halls. The lack of atmosphere has preserved every single 24th-25th Century detail. As she walks into the Administrator's Office, she sees the nameplate for Commander Naomi Wildman sitting on the desk. She sighs and looks around the station.*

Sam: It's like I'm walking in a museum.

*She walks out and takes the turbolift back down to the lobby.

Once there, she feels something in her head. She walks into the tailor and looks in the mirror. The reflection shows a figure similar to Sam, but with longer hair and silver irises.*

You.

Sam 2: What? You didn't think I'd forgotten about you, did you?

Sam: Well, I hoped. Didn't I beat the crap out of you enough last time?

Sam 2: Look, I'm not here to reminisce about old times - as fun as that always is. I'm here to give you a bit of advice.

Sam: Really?

Sam 2: Watch your back, Captain. Preston shouldn't be trusted.

Sam: And you should?

Sam 2: Fine, don't listen to me. Have fun fighting back when your leaders are dead!

Sam: What are you talking about?

Sam 2: Some things don't change. You humans always stab eachother in the back.

Sam: Sam, if there's a traitor in the rebellion you have GOT to tell me!

Sam 2: Why? Why shouldn't I just sit back and watch as your entire rebellion falls apart at the seams?

Sam: Because if you do, then I'll be on the frontlines of a war I'm losing, and I'll probably get killed or executed - or placed in a max security facility that not even a fly could sneak into. Either way, you don't get to kill me.

Sam 2: But you're still as good as dead.

Sam: But not by YOUR hands. Be honest, that's what keeps you going. That need to wring my neck personally, and watch the life drain out of my eyes.

Sam 2: I'll admit, that has its appeal - but I'd much rather throw you into a warp core.

Sam: Still... how would you do that if I'm already dead?

*Sam 2 looks away for a second, before looking back.*

Sam 2: Good point.

Your leaders are going to be attacked during the negotiations.

Sam: They aren't going to be here.

Sam 2: I know.

*Sam looks at her curiously.*

You know, that little psychic link that I use to torment you so much? Yeah, I know your plan.

*Sam's curious look turns into a glare.*

Someone betrayed you, and that someone is on Earth right now. He won't know if you move your leaders.

*The reflection fades into Sam's usual visage. Sam looks away and taps her combadge.*

Sam: Allington to Rio Grande. Open secure channel to Praetor Vala, code Ultra violet.

Rio Grande Computer: Working.

Channel open.

*Secretly, the rebel leaders are moved aboard 5 out of 20 ships at DS61. each ship travels in a different direction, masking their energy signatures and dispersing their ion trails, making them impossible to track.*

Matt: We'll be fold-jumping in 5 minutes. After that, the station is only 10 minutes away at full impulse.

While we're waiting, I thought I'd give you a tour of the Matthew Neilson.

There are key differences between us and the Republic. We were the prototype, even if the Republic was commissioned first. There were key problems with the Zero-point cannons during the Matthew Neilson's shakedown. They overloaded easily and took half the power grid with them. The Republic was saved those issues thanks to the MAMs.

(OOC: Noticing how scarily similar this is to the Sovereign Development program? In case you're not familiar, the Sovereign prototype's Regenerative shield generator burnt out during the trials, and her deflector and sensor packages drained an impractical amount of power, hence why the Enterprise-E came into service before the Sovereign - the E's systems were less draining.

It's also reminiscent of the Defiant's Development, in that the power grid overloaded when testing her phaser cannons.)

*Main Engineering.*

Delvan (Chief Engineer, Dalosian): What's the phase ratio?

Engineer: .001 angstroms out of alignment.

Delvan: See if you can get that below .0006 angstroms. I have a bet with Lieutenant Commander Mitchell that we can beat the Republic's phase alignment.

Engineer: Yes sir.

Delvan: Delvientos, watch the subspace coil! The last thing I need is to explain why we're only getting a quarter of the power we should be!

Delvientos: Yes sir!

*Matt leads Sarah and Jacob into Engineering. The Room is 3 levels tall, with the Warp Core consisting of a tall pillar with a Dilithium reaction chamber at the second level railing. White light pulsates through the pillar into the chamber. A tube runs from the back of the room into the back of the reaction chamber with red light pulsating into the chamber. (This is typical of all Matthew Neilson-Class ships).

The Subspace Coil consists of a large tritanium block, covering the cables sending the matter-antimatter reaction energy produced by the warp core into a large ring at the top, which has white energy cycling through as the coil sends the energy through subspace tripling energy output from the Warp Core. There are 3 Master System Displays. 1 on the wall next to the door, stretching 5 meters across, and 2 "pool-table" style MSDs next to the Warp Core and Subspace Coil, each showing the status of their respective systems. (This isn't typical. The Republic has the wall MSD but only 1 "pool table" MSD between the Core and the Coil.)

There are various consoles dotted across Main Engineering (mostly on the second and third levels) and multiple Jefferies Tube access points on all three levels, as well as an equipment locker on the back wall on the second level (The Republic has one on the third level as well). There is a main entrance on the first level, with a smaller entrance on the third level and ramps linking the three (the Republic has secondary entrances on both second and third floors. It also has a lift in addition to the ramps).

It should be noted that the Matthew Neilson and the Republic are the only ships of her class in service, and that the Neilson is the prototype. Newer ships will most likely share the configuration of the Republic's Engine Room, or a new layout entirely.*

Delvan: Captain! We weren't expecting an inspection!

Matt: It's not an inspection Lieutenant. I was just giving the Captains here a tour of the ship.

Delvan: We don't have any problems down here sir. All is "ship-shape and Bristol-fashion" as you humans say.

Matt: Very good.

Will *Over comm*: Bridge to Captain Forrester, we're ready for fold-jump.

Matt: Understood Bridge. You may engage at your discretion.

Will *Over comm*: Understood.

Bridge to All hands, prepare for fold-jump.

*The warp core pulsates faster for a few seconds as the ship fold-jumps.*

Delvan: Report.

Engineer: All clear. Fold-jump went as expected.

Delvan: Alright. What about the phase-alignment?

Engineer: .0008 angstroms.

Delvan: Keep at it.

Matt: That's well within recommended limits, lieutenant.

Delvan: Sir, I threw the handbook for the ship's power systems out the airlock the moment I came on board. They aren't very realistic.

Besides, Commander Mitchell on the Republic got their phase-alignment down to .0006 angstroms out.

Matt: Well, we can't have that, now can we? Carry on.

*Matt leads the two captains around engineering before stopping in front of the warp core.*

Any questions?

*OOC: Yes, I intend to use this as an opportunity to build up the Matthew Neilson-Class' character, as well as the Matthew Neilson as an individual ship.

And, as you can see, friendly competition is another side effect of the Matthew Neilson and the Republic being the only two ships of their class in the fleet. *

Matt: The Republic has more advanced systems, but considering our systems were already viable, you know the old edict; "if it isn't broken, don't fix it".

*The red alert klaxon sounds.*

Will *Over comm*: Red Alert! All hands man your battle stations! Captain Forrester to the Bridge!

Matt: What the hell?

Forrester to Bridge! Status Report!

Will *Over comm*: Sir, it's Starbase 589!

Matt: What about it?!

Will *Over comm*: It's gone sir! It's been completely destroyed, along with it's 5-ship garrison fleet!

*Matt looks at the two Captains with a grim expression.*

Matt: I'm on my way.

*Matt runs to the turbolift. Upon reaching the bridge, he looks at the viewscreen, which shows a massive debris field.*

Report. What could have done that to a Starbase?

John: Whatever it is, it left in one piece. I'm only reading debris from rebel constructs.

Matt: Check again. There's no way the Imperial Fleet has that much firepower.

John: The weapons signatures show no traces of antiprotons, sir. It definitely wasn't Imperials or Rebels who destroyed the base.

Matt: What did the scan show?

John: Traces of plasma and antimatter. Consistent with Borg and Iconian weaponry.

Matt: What?

Any sign of enemy vessels in the area?

John: Negative.

Matt: Stand down from General Quarters. All decks, Yellow Alert.

Will: Aye sir.

*The ship goes to Yellow Alert.*

Matt: Captain Halsey, would you and your colleague please report to the Bridge?

(OOC: Sorry, you never gave Sarah's last name.)

Ooc whoops its fisher

Jacob: this doesnt sound good.

Sarah: no it doesn't. Let's go see what all happened.

They both soon arrive on the bridge.

Sarah: so it looks like we have some major problems.

Jacob: big problems. Yes those look like Borg and iconian weapons. But why would they both attack the station. The Borg have been pretty quite for awhile now.

Sarah: in any matter we need to figure out what happened. When we came aboard I told the U.S.S Normandy to meet us here they should be here soon.
