The flight deck officers that add turrets to boarding party shuttles.


Could they also please give a turret to any drones your ship launches?


Aka, shield drones, hull repair drones and drain drones.


It would make those pets quite more functional.. the defensive ones would provide a 'flak' field around your ship as they heal and the drain drones can pump in some minor damage while they suck power out.

ideally id prefer they get a beam array-s rather than a turret... the turret firing sound animation is annoying...beams look cooler too.

I'd be ok with that for shield and hull drones/shuttles, but not power siphons.

One of the good ways of getting rid of those is using mines and fighters from other carriers. So if you don't have anything to keep out, they basically become immune to mines and targettable torps.

I'm ok with flak fire on hull and shield drones, since they only heal otherwise. But with how much disdain most people feel about power siphons, adding that to them wouldn't be good at all.

This is not likely to make it in as a Doff power, but we've been considering tweaking non-attack pets of this sort to have some sort of weapon. It's possible that this would allow us to tune their debuffing mechanics more precisely if they weren't their sole source of combat effectiveness.

Hmm.. ultra-rare purple (gold?) drone dilithium store item then?

As mimey pointed out the drain drone would not receive this benefit.

I was thinking more of that a carrier using shield and hull repair drones could benefit from them having a 2k range beam-s weapon at least... to shoot down mines, fighters, etc. while they heal.

Could we at least get the defense flight doffs fixed? The last stacking display fixed stopped them from stacking at all now.
