Hey guys, I've looked up the pvp build thread for the Fleet Nova but the build doesn't look to do well in a one on one encounter so I decided to start a thread to ask for advice, what skills can I put together to render an enemy ship as helpless as one can?
My character is a science Vice admiral flying a Fleet Science Vessel Retrofit, stats can be found here
My objective with this build is to cause as much hardship as possible for my opponents So myself and/or an assistant (if I have one) can take them out with ease.
i love this ship. its my favorite ship style from the trek universe.
in game i find it a bit blah.... it's close but no cigar kind of thing.
a small, agile, tac heavy sci ship....but.... the Vesta just does the same job better.
my suggestions would be to run a standard sci ship layout...CC and heal heavy. tractors and a PSW would be a great stall/interrupt game plan. a sci team, and a tss or 2 and of course a hazzards.
i'd use the ltcm tac for...well.... based on what you want to do with weapons....
TT1, DPB1, TSP3
TT1, TSP2, APO1
TSP1, DPB1, TSP3 (no TT build)
TT1, BO2, APO1 (with a dual beam bank and weapons battery)
TT1, CRF1, CRF2 (1 single array on the back for sensor analysis, 3 single cannons, 2 turrets)
so, yeah... with that last one you may want to be full energy and spike your aux heals with an aux battery.
tac consoles of all the same weapons type.....load up an shield capacity and boost maybe flow caps if you run tet glider.....and a neutronium or 2.....
either way, it will always depend on your piloting.... nothing wrong with a little nuke scan combo followed by a PSW and CRF as a setup for the escort to deliver a nice stunned blow......anywho... good luck man...
Always have Tric mines fitted into an aft weapons slot on my Fleet Nova. I love popping GWIII then throwing a dispersal pattern of Tric mines into the GW - pretty effective. Quite often fit the breen transphasic cluster torpedo into one of the other aft weapon slots too, to add insult to the enemies 'injury'.
anything this ship can do ,the wells or vesta can do better and live longer.
its sad, ireally enjoy my nova look too :/

well compared to the vesta, if you put a LTC tac on it, you would also have to have a LT tac. on the nove that LT is a sci instead, and on a sci ship thats probably a better spread of abilities

youd then have more hull/shields and pets on the vesta.

the nova has a 1.43 shield mod, and 15 turn too. the hull is proboly less though, and no pets save for photonic fleet. a few sci can fill the screen with that crap.
only a tac captain could proboly make decent use of a LTC tac on a vesta, on a nova it just means you can have APO once in a wile, like when you use TBR or something. it would be able to speed tank like an escort part of the time too. its one of the few ships the vesta and wells haven't made completely redundant
