Maybe if we tell them it's on the moon we will finally get that space program.

In all seriousness it is a good idea, such knowledge would be valuable for prosthetics and even perhaps HCI.

BUT...if Skynet get's wind of this...then it's time to panic.

So far as I am concerned, the old adage that suggests that 'becase we CAN do a thing does not necessarily mean that we MUST do that thing' springs to mind.

Well that's MY opinion too.

Theres also the fact that our knowlege about the brain is very VERY limited at this point... We know of it's capacity, and the average usage of most living beings of their brains is below 30%.

That means that we have between 70 and 90'ish percent of the brain, that we have no clue why it exists, and even less clue of what to use it for.

Of cause there is the concept, (witch admittedly seem like the Borg), that your thoughts and personality is stored within the brain, and as such the individuality is lost with these experiments.

What they are doing seems ethically and humanly irresponsible.

Agent Smith: I'd like to share a revelation that I've had during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your species and I realized that you're not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment but you humans do not. You move to an area and you multiply and multiply until every natural resource is consumed and the only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet. You're a plague and we are the cure...

What's scary about this isn't the fact their minds are linked, but they adapted. The Encoder saw the Decoder was having trouble and changed his pattern so Decoder could work more efficiently.
