In reference to 'Message in a bottle', I have to admit that I've been considering, and am very tempted to try, a 'canon' Promethus build, with my Fleet MVAE.

Granted, we didn't see a great deal of the USS Prometheus' offensive capability, though we did see her utilise her phaser beam arrays and photon torpedoes, so am fairly sure a decent build could be created around that.

And I realise that this would involve the ever-frowned upon 'fitting beams to an escort' (Message in a bottle didn't show the Promethus using cannons), but to be blunt, in this instance I really couldn't care less.

I wouldn't mind trying it myself, but there's just one thing missing.

I Love This Ship! I have all of the Tac Escorts and I'm always going back to the MVAM with the canon build. But I must say, the Beam build sound interesting, I'm going to try it this weekend.

Likewise, as per my earlier post. Haven't been able to get onto the game itself much over the past few days, but intend to give a canon build a try.

I'm thinking two MkXII phaser beam arrays and twoMkXII photon torpedo launchers forward, two MkXII phaser beam arrays aft and one photon torpedo launcher aft.

Consoles (tactical ones anyway), I'm thinking one MkXII [Purple] photon detonation assembly and the remainer phaser relays.

Haven't figured out the rest - really need to log in to the game and have a look at what I have available to use.

Now my question is this. Is the MVAM Prometheus worth dropping the 3000 zen on her for the splitty module and a fleet module?
The MVAM console is nice, but in all honesty, I haven't used it in ages given the 3 minute cooldown length and significant hull reductions on each separation ability. The resulting MVAM pets are also dumb as bricks -- they love parking next to exploding cubes. Fortunately this can be remedied by high yield Omega torpedoes

I have never jived well with the MVAE, and I haven't used it in months. However, I'm pretty sure that the current AI is a bit smarter than that, and definitely seems smarter than that for either separable Odyssey component. I could be wrong, though, but that's just my observation from the times where I did use it.
