# 1 How can I stop this?
03-03-2013, 07:59 AM
I'm not sure if I am posting this in the right area and I am probably not but here is my issue.
Every once in a while I will be running along in game smooth and nice then all of a sudden my Ferenngi will start moving funny for a bit then go smooth again. It also happens in my ship but I only have a 15 second video showing me just run. Out of every game I have that is online like this, this is the only one that does it so I was told it wasn't lag. Anyway here is the video, can anybody please help?

Hi there

You need to set your video to public
Hopefully I'll come back from my break; this break is fun; I play intellectual games.

I have experien ed the same thing. A very random occasional stutter. It been this way forever and is even present on my new system. I figured it was local connection issues.

Your probably experiencing the effect known as rubber banding or warping. This is an effect of latency and/or synchronicity with the game's server. It does not necessarily indicate a problem on your end, as it is most likely an issue occurring along the chain of server connections your computer makes to send and receive data to/from Cryptic's server.

It has been my experience that this happens more often in Cryptic's online titles than in most other established MMOs I have played. Whether it is Cryptic itself who chooses how data gets to them from different parts of the world or solely the ISPs involved, I wish they would improve their services.

You can conduct some tests yourself to see if your connection to Cryptic is encountering latency at particular stops along the route.
