Hey STO Community,

I have been gone for a long time, maybe a year and a half, came back and got myself a Temporal Destroyer and a Jemhadar Dreadnought for my Tactical Captain, (I also have an orb weaver) but I have been enjoying the dreadnought, but I want to make it a little more... worthy of elite combat.

If people could help me out, first what weapons I should use? Right now using Tachyon MK XI, MK XII, 4 dual beam banks front, 2 cannons (360) and 1 180 Torpedo launcher.

Armor I have borg set, also MK XI MACO set, also reman shields... etc. Essentially, I enjoy beams and using dual beam banks, preferably 3-4 on fore.

What pet should I use? I seem to have noticed alot of complaints about the pet that comes with the ship.

What consoles? I am using the tachyon buff consoles for tactical, one of the borg consoles, and the rest just IDK random shield and armor stuff.

Money is not an object, and the same questions go for a temporal destroyer, since its smaller, I imagine DHC? thanks for the help.

I have been having a hard time figuring out the aforementioned questions. I don't want to go invest 30-40 million EC without first getting some second opinions, if anyone can please write even just an opinion on Fore and Aft Weapons, or consoles, or anything for that matter I would greatly appreciate it.

I can't speak to the Dreadnaught as I've only recently started using carriers and haven't really gotten much experience with them, but I have the Temporal Destroyer so I'll offer you my thoughts there.

If you like beams I'd recommend a single dual beam bank fore along with two dual heavy cannons and a torpedo or three dual heavy cannons. Aft I normally use turrets to give forward DPS a bit of a boost, but you could probably get away with running beam arrays.

Before you go on the exchange I'd recommend using episode replay to run the fed mission Project Nightingale to get weapons so you can test your build (in terms of weapons types, if not damage types) before committing to buying off the exchange.

For consoles, while I haven't done it myself if you intend to go with a "tank" build and not use many science abilities you might look into using the science slots for Field Generators. The Tactical slots should all be used to boost what ever damage type you decide on. Typical recommendation is four energy consoles, but if you like Torps a three energy/one kinetic console works pretty well too. Engineering can be used as either dump space for universal consoles or anything really though I typically use a couple of Neutroniums simply because I'm lazy
