If"making JJ better" involves kneecaps, and a lousville slugger....I'm in.
I will wait for it on netflicks, then I can enjoy it hammered at home, and just consider it as "Bubblegum" Trek. I figure someday someone will resume prime universe Trek.
Do I read this right? You're condemning this as "'Bubblegum' Trek" - and you haven't even seen it yet?
As it was put in another thread - IDIC fail.
"Science teaches us to expect -- demand -- more than just eerie mysteries. What use is a puzzle that can't be solved? Patience is fine, but I'm not going to stop asking the universe to make sense!" - David Brin, "Those Eyes"
ST 09 was fin Hollywood isn't doing smart anymore. as a movie. The TNG movies were not cereberal save for Insurrection anyhow(people are still arguing over that one). The only real loss is Trek is no longer on tv anymore where it belongs (tv has smartened up and hollywood has dumbed down). I must say the lens flare is really annoying though.
TV has smarten up????? unless there is a Star Trek reality show, I don't see it coming back to TV....the Internet should be where Trek goes TV is dead just like in Trek.
I don't recall any Trek movie being smart....WOK was a basic revenge flick.
maaaaaybe TMP but a lot of people find it boring
Undiscovered Country was a lot more cerebral than people give it credit for. Sure theres a lot of action-y stuff, with all the sabotage, prison escape plot, and all that crap. But it also has Kirk overcoming his racism, coming to terms with the death of his son, and accepting his age, the argument that logic has it's flaws as well, death, and whether something exists beyond it, and whether it's more honorable to go down fighting, or admit that you need help. Plus it has some of the greatest lines in Star Trek history.
The only ones that truly tried to be intelligent failed spectacularly.

Personally I think the guts of a huge ship should look like the guts of a huge ship.
Please, by all means, do tell me where the Warp Core on the JJprise is.
It don't look like the guts of a huge ship. It looks like a brewery.
