I know it's a Romulan faction. However they could start them off at the same time that Fed and KDF folks start off, that would mean events happening for them and leading up to the Romulan FE missions.
If it isn't I probably won't be making a serious return to the game. I need a reason to begin a fresh character, preferably with a sleek green UI and sleek green ships. The Feds and Klingons are so stale for me right now, been playing since launch...bored bored bored.
A faction in no way precludes Hakeev and/or Sela returning.
If your Number One Argument for a Romulan Faction were the Teasers (beginning with "March beneath ..." he/they do ... because it's pretty obvious by now the Teasers were promoting some kind of FE from the start ... so if Romulans are happening, it will be a complete surprise with no Promotion at all, and just some ripple effect of the FE ...
There is no way there gonna bring back one the FEDs most annoying villains just to put them behind some desk in some new Romulan HQ ...

Ooooo this is all very intriguing. I noticed the face straightaway and the pointy ears, but have to be ashamed and admit i didn't know what the ridges implied lol. For some reason i always forget the remans.
So let's see what we have so far. We have what looks like a starfleet officer carrying a woman with long hair either out or into a fire. And we have a reman hovering over a planet, is that new romulus? And you guys reckon it's a part borg reman with one of his eyes looking like a laser?
That planet actually looks quite grey and industrial looking at it. A borg colonised planet? How new romulus could end up if we don't save it from this borg/reman?
If you get a Futurama lockbox, I want a Stargate one.
Putting Supergates in every sector and nebula will enable faster doffing than even the Tuffli can provide. And it fits thematically with the Iconian gateways.
Fixed it for you. Unless you mean to tell me you'll get puddle jumpers with hyperdrives as well, in which case it's spacegates.
Infinite possibilities have implications that could not be completely understood if you turned this entire universe into a giant supercomputer.
