Because one of yous talked about how simple it'd be to add it b/c it's "Just a Miranda with a turret on the back".

It's not.

Or more specifically, it has a lot of little detail, which you can find on the kits but might miss at a glance in the episode itself. For instance, the underside turret is barely visible, being largely obscured by the nacelles. It's still present a couple times, and you get a good shot of it when the ship returns in First Contact IIRC.

Here's a gallery with more model shots- very nicely put together and my god the aztecing work is amazing.

Here's another completed model with updated greeble bits (the kit missed a few).

Here's probably the best onscreen shot to prove that the underside turret isn't just a fabrication- lighting was deliberately bad that entire episode.

So anyways, there's all your details. If you have any questions, go ask the guys at Starshipmodeler.net, they know everything.

EDIT: Mechanics suggestion: Special separate 'turret' weapons slot, which applies [arc] to any weapon slotted in it (except actual turrets obviously).

It would make a lovely escort.

those arent turrets, they are sensor arrays of some kind.

They could be either but they certainly look like battleship turrets. Even if you could get this in game it would never be a tier 5 ship for the same reason we can't have a tier 5 Connie.

They're explicitly turrets. The bozeman was classified as a 'destroyer' and was designed as a miranda variant 'covered in guns'

More explicitly, you're probably sourcing the 'sensor arrays' idea off of this LCARS image:

http://infothread.org/Science%20Fict...20Starship.jpg

The problem with that is that this image is entirely non-canon. If it was canon, it has an additional problem: it identifies the 'phaser turrets' on the side. These turrets have 100% identical topography to the ones on the top and bottom. You know, the ones labeled 'sensor arrays'?

But like seriously. They look like guns, they're positioned like guns, and have a history of pointy gun-looking like bits being guns.

Or are you seriously telling me that http://i.imgur.com/qnLb0Pq.png ?

they don't look like any guns any federation ship has ever had. its likely that they are some sort of highly focused sensors, and an advancement soon after its launch obsoleted the whole ship. they did mention that class was decommissioned before even the 24th century.

The Galaxy Dred has a cannon that runs the length of the saucer section, Klingon raiders all have long barreled guns on them, so who's to say that those aren't some kind of highly focused long range weapon on the Soyuz. They could be both sensor and a weapon. They could be little plastic greebles glue to a model to shoot a scene in a sci fi show, who cares?
