Don't waste your Dilith on them.

Primary points:

1. They're morons. They don't follow carrier commands 9/10ths of the time.
2. They're morons with fed frigate AI, so they try and broadside even though they have 2x dual beam banks and a torpedo.
3. They have no 'skill level' as far as their debuffs go. Thermionic torpedo, when it procs, affects a given level 50 NPC for 3 seconds. Against a player? Hahahahahaha.
4. APB+FAW generates hilarious threat, but players don't care about threat, so this is one point that who cares I guess.
5. They don't mesh weave. JHAS fighters ram. But mesh weavers don't mesh weave. :|
6. They don't.... do much. A lot of times I just find them sitting around doing nothing when I've told them to go attack someone, or aimlessly exploring the map. I have to respawn them CONSTANTLY because they aren't remotely reliable.

Feel free to post your [s]mesh weaver[/s] tholian trolling RC toy experiences here.

I was gonna link a gif of Batman eating Pinkie Pie as my reply, but that's a pretty comprehensive list of reasons why they'd be terrible.

....

They're probably still better than Type 10 Shuttles.
If you feel Keel'el's effect is well designed, please, for your own safety, be very careful around shallow pools of water.

They seem to do 'okay' against single targets, but multiple targets confuse the crap out of them.

Whether they follow carrier commands is very intermittent. They'll always follow the intercept command, but tend not to be very cohesive about what they target with it- I'm testing on gorn space (foundry grind) and sometimes they just go off and explore the map for a bit before returning.

They're pretty good about maintaining debuffs on a single target, so in a pvp match where they might escape priority targeting they may do better.

They also *do* do attack runs. But they're problematic because they seem to like using evasive maneuvers at the start of the run- so they zip right past their target without really firing that much, and then turn around and- *gets hit with a torp spread and dies*

Yeah, it's kinda like that. IDK, evasive is pretty neat on them, since you can drop them at range and put them in intercept. But that's the only really reliable command for them- well that and recall. Attack and escort? If you're lucky they might deign to follow those commands.

Good. The more dumb pets we have in PvP, the less broken pets we have.

Yet another reason why Orion Interceptors are the best pet. They're aggressive and will engage on their own but also listen to recall and new target orders. IDK what the difference is but they need to import their AI to other pets.

I bought them and I feel like a chump for doing it. I haven't had time to monitor them in that much detail, but they did horribly when compared to my Elite Scorpions...

If each pet type had their own AI commands and programed style of attacking, I could see this pet being interesting and maybe even fun to use.

How ever that is not the way things are for Carriers. So I had a hunch they might not be as good as they looked on paper.
You think that your beta test was bad?

I would bet these things will be rather rocking when FAWs fix is fixed.
