As it is right now... on Tribble the UI scheme you select is used for all characters from all factions. Meaning your KDF character will have a Fed UI scheme if thats what you choose on your Fed character. There is no way, at the moment, to set UI schemes based on per character or per faction basis.

the new ui is great. i just wish you could save the look you want per character, instead of it being the same across all until you manually change it

I honestly think the new UI is a HUGE step backwards and makes the game feel like it belongs in the Windows 95 era. While the color choices are a nice idea, the new fonts, squished icons, and Windows 8/tablet friendly buttons are not very useful to non-touch users (which I'd imagine would still be the vast majority of STO players). Can we please retain the option to keep the current UI, the way that "Astrometrics" can be turned on or off in space, please? This would please both camps. Thanks.

Everything sounds and looks awesome. Haven't tested it so I can't render a final judgement, but it all looks fantastic and the decreased footprint makes me happy. The old UI was godawful about that, put my framerate in a chokehold at around 20-30 when even in heavy action I should be pushing 50 or 60.

No. They're still there.

This sounds awful. I would not want a "Federation" UI on my Rom or KDF toon. Likewise, I might want one Fed toon to use "Federation" another to you "Voyager" or "TNG".

The UI setting must be adjusted/saved per character.

Also, please tell me we can resize windows and locate them (with "last location remembering") however we please. I hate windows that I can't control. Especially overly big/wasted space windows.

I really don't like this new UI.

The colors are too flat and lifeless.

Also, I find the black box around EVERY element of the UI disconcerting, especially on the ground.

It's like parts of my screen have gotten phosphur burnout.

Please allow the option to keep the OLD UI and don't just manditorily force this chance on players who don't want it.

I don't have time these days for going on tribble, so ignore me if I am stating what is capable:

Specail Weapon - UI Animation connection: A few good examples; When your ship has a whole power supply disrupted (Weapons, Shields, etc) then the buttons begin to spark with electricity. When you fire a powerful weapon (Example) the UI dims or flickers as if the power is being drained (reverse when using batterys, UI gets brighter).

Save and Load: For people that are colour blind or with various conditions, this will b a good opputunity to fix the game for them, to make life easier, let them have the ability to save and transfer their particular choice of settings to all their characters.

Map Editing: I have noticed that in certain missions the map makes things confusing or unrelable, such as facing a high number of fighters, you cant tell where they all are. The ability to zoom in further and/or choice what icons appear would help.

Alert Status: Being not just able to choice Red or Green Alert but choosing what to call them; (Battlestations & Cruising Stations/Tactial Alert & Normal) and perhaps having matching Audio tracks to select from. For instance the Romulans could have a deep computer voice like in Nemesis or choice to have the Feminine Voice of Starfleet; (Mrs.Roddenbury and Director of ST:Nemesis).

UI - Ship Connection: Saving pre-set UI's to each ship, your Odyseey can have a TNG style LCARS while your Atrox can have purple and pinks. The Orions can have Greens and Oranges whilst your Klingon Escort can have Blacks and Reds.

Styles: As oposed to the beautiful LCARS theme, you could also select TCARS, Vulcan Style, Caitain Style, Orion Style, Civilian Style, Ferengi Style, etc. (Not Colour scheme).
A good comparison could be a Romulan Computer has a Triangular Button look whilst the Caitain has a similar look to the current default UI but with almost Bubble looking buttons.
Also the ability for 2D/3D selection depending on the players graphics.

I look forward to trying and playing with the new UI's, thank you for your fine work Cryptic and I hope my thread will provide some measure of inspiration.
ATTENTION: UNDINE SPACE & TKON GROUND SETS ALL THE WAY DEVS!.. Q-TRIBBLE, MAYBE!?.. EJECT WARP CORE ABILITY LIKE LAYING A SUPER-MINE, HELL YES!!!.. SPACE HIPPIES FROM TOS PLAYING MUSIC IN OUR FLEET STARBASE, NO, JUST, NO... CAIT & RA'KHOLN ADVENTURE ZONE, YES

I am profoundly disappointed that there is no proper Klingon red scheme. While the new functionality is an improvement, the visuals appear to me as though they pre-date the curent UI.

If you want the "Default" option for all your Char's Factions... There's a default option.
