For your Cruiser pilots worried about the Escorts getting more of a buff from RCS than anyone, please remember-the twitchier your ship is past a certain point, the harder it is to line up good shots. I have a friend (actually the guy who got me INTO this game) whom, in his first experience with a BoP/KDF character, sat in my office complaining about how 'twitchy' the ship was, and how he wanted to go back to his Fed-style cruisers with the handling he understood better.

I pointed him to the Commander-level K'tinga, and now he is happy(er).

On the whole, as the Dev said, this is a good thing for the Cruiser users out there, along with sci ship users, but it's kind of insignifcant to us BoP drivers-we already HAVE ships that run the edge of controllable without needing a console to buff turn rate, and while it may help some sorts of Escorts (bugships), it's not really a significant contribution to most escorts, regardless of how high the bonuses are.

You don't benefit if your turn rate exceeds the speed of your control inputs.

I'm actually not afraid of this. But that instead 3 RCS, they will get the same effect from 2 RCS consoles, thus leaving room for another P2W tool or armor.

But let's hope I'm just too worried, and the numbers won't be that extreme.

I believe Escorts and BoPs should be able to stack as many RCS consoles as necessary until it becomes a warp powered Dual Heavy Turret with a defense shield.
All cloaks should be canon.

i did a little looking at the effect of turn consoles currently, and i came to the conclusion that if they changed a console from like +40% turn to +4 turn, a ship with 15 base turn would break even, anything below that would benefit a ton more, and everyone above that lose some effect. having flown escorts nearly exclusively, except for battle cruisers, for a good wile now, that would totally be fair. these escorts do NOT need to be turning this well, the game was not balanced with turn rates like that being posible. if they made it a flat buff like this, the bug would lose out on turn console buff the most, thats reason enough to change it to a flat buff.

looking forward to seeing what the dkora, karfi, bortas, nebula, and my good turning battle cruisers do after this change. my 5 and a half turn console fleet neg already has a 30 turn rate, it will be particularly hilarious to see what this change does for it

I don't mind a flat buff rather than a percentage. I just hope my turn rate doesn't get reduced.

I have a hard enough time keeping up with BoPs and bugs.

The devs haven't said yet how exactly the change will be implemented. My guess is that they will not change the percentage-based bonus into a flat bonus. I think they will remove the -3 penalty that is added to the base turn rate before turn bonuses are applied. If I am correct, then that means all of the following will get a buff:

1. RCS accelerators
2. Tachyokinetic Converter
3. Engine [Turn] modifier
4. Engine power
5. Skill "Starship Impulse Thrusters"

Right now 3 points of your turn rate are not effected by any turn rate modifiers. The change (i'm assuming) will reduce that amount or remove it. Here is a quick spreadsheet to see how it should effect your current ship depending on if they remove or reduce it. This assumes that they reduce it for everything that modifies turn rate which also may or may not be the case.
