Hi All,

I've been trolling around the site and have found similar issues but haven't found this one yet.

When loading my client I get passed the initial login screen and select my Char and press "Play"
This then goes to "Retrieving list of maps" and eventually times out.

After reading some of the posts i checked "My Account" and have the following

Products
Star Trek Online
Download Game Client (Link)
Activated Features
* Star Trek Online - Preorder

Subscriptions
*

There have been alot of mentions about a retail key is this something that STEAM hasn't sent me as I have only recieved the Pre-order Key and in "My Account" I only have two options

1) Dashbourd
This has products (As above) and Purchase CP
2) Settings
This has E-mail details, Time Zone and password

I don't seem to have an option anywere to setup a subsciption or enter my CC details.

Does anyone have any ideas or assistance from Devs.

In the Steam games menu, you can right click on STO and select view game CD Key. That should have the retail key you need, Steam never sends it via e-mail.

I have removed the game from Steam and installed it via STO Torrent as the Steam version wasted 49Gb of my 55Gb plan.

Do I have to reinstall it via the Virus program known as Steam to get my Retail key?

I'm pretty sure it needs to be installed to retrieve the key via the game list. You might be able to get in contact with Steam support and get it from a representative.

Sweet, i started the install then paused it and was able to get the key

Well that fixed my account issue but I still can't log in.

I can't log in either, I get to the character loading screen. Click "Play" it says "Retrieving list of maps" then hangs for a long time then says "Connection to the login server timed out." and goes back to the log in screen.

From my dashboard:

I'm stuck in the same boat here too... I've been trying to get in since early start and still haven't been able to log a minute of gameplay. I ordered my copy through Amazon and have a 12 month subscription. Here's my details:

Star Trek Online
Download Game Client
Activated Features

* Star Trek Online - Preorder
* Star Trek Online 12 Month Subscription Preorder

Subscriptions

My best guess is that the servers are still too overcrowded and are not able to handle the load. Its been an issue since OB and I'm getting tired of it. I really do not want to have to cancel my pre-order and dispute the 12 month subscription charge, but I'll have to if Cryptic does not sort this out.

I might've found a fix that works... I went ahead and changed my proxy settings in the launcher from None to EU and was able to login past the retrieving maps message. Try changing those settings between None, US, and EU and see if it allows you to get in.
