I believe it might be more than that, if he/she/it made it to level 16 and got past the Romulans (which is an ASSUMPTION on my part because i think they come before Hirogen, but its possible those missions were skipped), then the OP knows what he's doing.

And to continue guessing and risk being wrong i'm going to say that he is a tactical flying a cruiser though because of the overpowering of his shields that quickly. If thats the case, I might suggest getting that science officer up to snuff! Jam Sensors combined with your speed and jousting runs really might be a tactic to use. With the huge DPS burst dmg, and the difference in shield impact (forward shields on attack, rear shield impact on exit) he might be able to juggle dmg long enough to survive.

Ah, dummy! You get XP for every single patrol mission, plus 56 in the end, plus the ones for killing ships.

And as people told you before: you have to do all quests. The easy ones give low XP, the long ones give higher XP. If you skip all low XP quests, you miss about 1/3 to 1/2 of the XP you're going to get. And you wonder that you don't get up fast. lol.

You're truly hilarious!

"Oh no, i don't get the normal leveling, I don't understand how the XP's work, I guess it's very slow, please tell me the XP exploit all the others are using..."

Why didn't you ask the guys in the galaxy class??

And no, I won't tell you the exploit. And no, simply sitting in the Encounters isn't it.

What i'm gonna tell you is: If you continue to skip 50% of the content beacuse you don't understand how the leveling works, you will have to use the encounters up until rear admiral, because you will NEVER be able to "proceed normal again". You obviously didn't get the "normal proceeding", or else you wouldn't call the "normal proceeding" wrong. Meh, what do I care. Enjoy your "Deep Space encounter Online"...

I need 18700 sp to reach Commander. At 58 sp per 20 minutes, it's going to take me 6448.2 minutes or 107.4 gaming hours. At an average of four hours a day, that's almost 27 days before I hit Commander. I assure you, I will have quit before 27 days if I'm left with nothing but patrol missions, hence why I'm asking for a faster way.
I'm not sure this is the game for you then

Hmm. Perhaps. I forgot to add in the disclaimer that I myself just hit Lieutenant Commander, and definitely have NOT done that mission. But I'm also still running around finishing everything but the defend missions, and I've still got a ways to go before I finish them. So I dunno. I thought I read something in his posts about him flying an escort, which would essentially make him a glass cannon, and may require a change-up in strategy.

Those people in the Galaxy Classes, yeah, they did Patrols kk? I'm Lt Com 7, and took the last 2 days of headstart off, had school during the day, and last 2 nights hardly played at all. Btw, 1 "leg" of the patrol in I think Hromi gave me 100 skill each, times 5 systems, plus 50 for finishing all = 550 skill points not even counting killing enemies. Enemies, the cruisers give me I think around 6 each, battleships 10+ each.

I've reached LC 6 and the only mission worth a damn (in terms of skill points) is to kill a group of Hirogen who are vastly overpowered for my ship. I cannot continue and griding PvE doesn't seem to be getting me anywhere in terms of leveling up so I can buy a better ship. So, could someone please tell me the best and quickest way to gain skill points as a Fed?
Stop playing solo all the time. This is an MMo and although you can solo all the time why do it?You are paying to play this and single player games are free. Exert some effort/social skills. Gameplay is way different with a good group . Although finding people with social skills can be a challenge. Might try to find a decent Fleet to join... uh with all the annoying little juvenile *******s these days in games that might be a challenge as well... I don't know what else to tell you....Try talking to starfleet... If you ever got in a decent group they might have told you that. Of course actually getting someone to even talk in a group might be a challenge as well.. Kids today can't read or speak ..let alone type on a computer keyboard....They only go to school to learn how to be haters of humanity. Sorry, my bad, I knew I should have never even responded to you.....
