Seriously, i am getting sick and tired of little no-life noobs camping spawn points.
Might i suggest that the devs add some indestructible extremely powered automated defence turrets around the gates, and place a number of permanent spawn points for each side instead of just randomly spawning anywhere.

Being blown up over and over again before even being able to enage = not cool.

Ground can't do that because all the maps use the lame quake-style "no-bottleneck" design, so all rooms have at least two enterences and dropping one-shot weapons anywhere will screw up the ability to move around.

Space already has turrents/etc, but I have no idea how powerful they are. Nobody ever spawn camps in space.

it wont work, people would just camp the spawn points and try to use them as adventage.

spawning should give you 30 second stealth, and that stealth would vanish when you attack.

CO had you spawn in a safe room outside the arena.

For one map, there were 3 different exits from the spawn room into the arena and you could use any of them.

The only other element required is a timed auto-kick for spending too long in the respawn room.

He's talking about Cracked planet , Briar patch and Solar wind maps. Problem is that most teams pick the first queue that pops and are in pretty quickly , especially Klingons. Those that let the counter count down are doomed to meet someone at the gate as they spawn .

Thats exactly why you would have super powerful indestructible automated defences that would prevent this from hapening, combined with multiple spawn points for one faction.
Which means if they camp one spawn point its a pretty unwise move as they could put themselves in a position to be surrounded.

Well there's a few problems.

First the map goals are ass. And second yes it needs a safe zone.

That can easly be rectified by putting out a kick-after-2-minutes zone around the spawn points, forcing them to leave.

Its not something thats impossible to do, it IS possible to create balanced and camp free spawn points, its been done in other games and can be done here.

Agreee with OP i would rather have death kicks you to a dry dock facility in space serounded by powerful turrets or a medical bay on ground serounded by turrets and a doctor.
