Listened to the Giant Bomb podcast and they made a really good suggestion that shouldn't be too hard to implement: give bridge officers chatter. 'Shields up', 'firing phasers', 'forward shields at 50%', 'tachyon pulse ready' and things like that would make it feel a lot more immersive and StarTrek-like. Would need a variety of voices, but wouldn't necessarily be a huge v/o project, and they already have some similar computer-voice messages so wouldn't even have to code much for it.
They also mentioned that there's not a lot to do with the bridge view, and that is true, not sure if there's a lot that can be done, and the bridge officers are going to be somewhat generic out of necessity, but how about adding a view like in Bridge Commander? You could give the steering over to the AI, issue general attack orders, and watch people lurch around the bridge and consoles blow up. Just like in that game, it wouldn't be something you'd use often, but would add to the experience. That and maybe getting some mission briefings on the viewscreen?
Excited to see what you guys do with the license and hope you're planning on adding some more things like this. Would really make the experience even more authentic!
