For those who are interested, look down the list in the 5.20 range and you will find Star Trek Online is only a little behind Furcardia: MMORPG.com Ratings

lol... I was going to make some reply but figured it'd sound like a desperate "fanboi" saying anything to defend the game. Seems I don't have to, anyway. The rating mechanic's poor credibility speaks for itself.

not even an updated list. Still have TBD for the cost of playing. Sort of like an "4 out of 5 dentists prefer" commercial.

Doesn't mean anything.

Jep...you forgot Duke Nukem Forever..it will be the best evar, even compared to MMO's

Comparing a released game to a unreleased game means nothing....

Marketing promises miracles....what you get is something entirely different.

MMORPG.com's rating system is completely user based. The reason why some unreleased games have higher scores (and scores at all for that matter) is because it is the unreleased games "Hype Meter" which is the equivalent to their rating meter for the released games. All ratings are put in by MMORPG.com users.

So several factors come to play with this rating system:
1) You had to have had enough interest in the game to rate it
2) You have to have a relatively active account with MMORPG (have to be a certain rank in order to review/hype meter games).
3) You ave to know how to use their rating system (not hard to learn, but I've known of members who didn't know you could rate the system that joined back in '04).
4) All of 1, 2, and 3 has to happen.

If you look at the most well known titles you can see some continuity.

edit- Not to mention scores can be edited by the users at a later date as content changes for the better or worse.
