Short term:
SOMETHING TO KEEP REAR ADMIRAL 5 PLAYING
Skills Reset Ability.
Ability to buy extra ship slots (to have more ships waiting at your dock)
Change ship captain skills to not be tier specific. eg, All cruiser captain skills should apply to all cruiser ships, not just ones of a certain tier. It should never have been designed like this in the first place, it's idiotic when viewed from the endgame.

Medium Term:
No loadscreens - replace it with a warp-speed starfield animation.
Ship cargo bays (stores ship equipment leaving your inventory for ground equipment, resources and commodities.

Long Term:
The ability to have multi-person ships, the ability to walk around inside a ship while it is being flown by someone else. The ability to look out of windows/viewscreen and see what is going on outside the ship.

Short term:

- sort after price in Exchange
- some sort of emote arc (to make it easier to find the right position to use a chair)
- Tachyon Beam ground ability fix: Beam gets stuck after use and only disappears after using TB again

Mid term:

- visitiable social homeworlds as explained here: http://forums.startrekonline.com/sho...d.php?t=127774
- casual outfit sets for Risa and other social occasions (in other words: I want a Ferengi tailcoat with a tacky pattern, damnit!!!)
- alien ships (Vulcan science vessels, Ferengi casino ships/merchant ships, Andorian battle cruiser - can be simply skins)
- additional titles/ranks (Chief, Councellor; alien ranks like DaiMon, Gul, Subcommander; better way for additions like "son of ...", so a Klingon can be addressed as "Klingon, son/daughter of Bla" without resulting in silly NPC dialoges a la "Hailing Captain son of Bla")

The whole port to your ships bridge was kinda a cool idea for about the first 10 sec after you port there then get bord theirs nothing there id like to see something like the bases they made for city of villains added in ship form kinda a build your own ship interior and lay out theirs so much they could do with it add your own holo sweet, engine room, Crew Quarters with objects that boost the crew members who's assigned to the room. each room and items could affect your ship in some way like it did in city of villains now i know they cant just add something like that but that would be something cool to throw into a expansion. ever quest may be old but i still love the feature of being able to decorate your own home and they could do so much more with that kinda thing now make interactable objects for us creative people who like to play and create at the same time sometimes its nice just to sit back and take a break from all the chaos of mmos.

Short-term requests

Fix the spamming
Different colors for repeatable missions
death penelty. damaged ship needing repairs at space doc, same with guns, and gear


Mid-term requests

More quest that call for "Need assitance taking damage...."
A borg invation on any random system and calling for all available ships
other faction taking over systems and control of sectors, including borg, romulan, klingons,Fed, etc
wild cards.. alian items discovered, and now causing having in sectors.

Long-term requests

more fighting between factions.
controlling or attacking home world,
fleet owned starbases would be cool.



this game has lots of potential. please consider some of the things written in this thread.

Short Term
General Bug Stomping
More Item Options from badges
Remove the auto-entering of the deep space combat missions

Mid Term
More ships and ship customization options
More non-combat missions (especially exploration missions)
Fixing the skill system to work with a limited number of skill points

Long Term
Fully customizable ship interiors (like superbases in CoH...but better. )
Content with multiple ways to complete it that could cause branching storylines
Ability to give bridge officers specific roles (Medical Officer, Transporter Chief, Helmsman, etc.)

Man, I really have to say it's difficult to narrow this down to just three of each.

Short Term:
1)Skill reset, in game currency could be required to do it.
2)More ship skins/options per level to customize the look of your ship even further to make it even more distinct
3)Exchange update, add in a way to sort the results of the exchange, or an advanced search option where you can break down what you’re looking for even further based on abilities or stat bonuses, ability to SORT the results based on a number of things, at the very least PRICE
Mid Term:
1)Changes to the crafting, ability to track your progress so you know how close to the next stage you are.
2)More variety in missions, diplomatic or different outcomes based on choices you make as the captain (maybe instead of having one BO tell you what to do in a situation, have 2 or 3 of them (if you have them) suggest a different resolution each and then go down the path of your choosing. ) this would make playing repeatable quests a bit easier especially if the choices you make can change the mission.
3)Put a timer on PVP or some sort of penalty for not Engaging an enemy to encourage people to fight it out
Long Term:
1)Balance PVP a bit more between classes.
2)Flesh out the different Ship classes a bit more, possibly adding custom slots for each ship class. Or maybe a “Utility slot” with items that can be equipped there that are restricted based on Ship Class type, specific Items like armor upgrade that are restricted to Escorts. This would help define each class more.
3)More end game progression/options I would guess, add a bit more depth to the game in general. Your standard “moving forward” phase once you put out all the fires that spring up at launch.

Just a quick note to the Dev’s: of my personal experience with launches, (Wow, SWG, ***) this was the smoothest I have experienced, personally haven’t hit any bugs yet, or at least anything I have noticed, and very little in the way of lag if any, I appreciate the good work you are doing, the one thing I see with this game is that what you have is a GREAT starting point, with so many possible ways to expand on what you have and make it a truly massive and great game!

Short - Term

1. toggle OFF option (or a density option) for the multi-colored space-dust confetti appearing around ships at impulse-speed in all impulse-speed locations

2. redo the transporter animation to THREE quick stages:
---- a) away team leader (me!) taps communicator badge
---- b) computer voice "stand by"
---- c) engage transport

3. holstered weapons when entering safe locales (and the bridge!)

4. replace the welcome to Deep Space Encounters with a report from OPS that the ship is entering a battle zone (the current message from an unknown officer is a bit vague)


Mid - Term

1. try Saturn's-Rings to replace some of the asteriod fields around planets

2. modify quest-giver responses to completed tasks so that they reflect your current location:
---- a) visiting the local station "enjoy your time here"
or
---- b) hailing from outer space "good luck out there"

3. Implement a "bridge-view" communication screen when contacting Starflleet

4. rewrite Explore Missions so that they are ALL to systems that Starfleet has absolutely NO information about

Short Term- Weapon attribute mechanics pass. Polaron weaponry's space trait needs a lot of attention. After being on the recieving end of countless all Polaron volleys from multiple targets in PVP and witnessing the -25 to all power kick in several times, its impact on my systems was embarrassingly miniscule. My single EPS Flow Regulator and Effecient Impulse Engines crushed the -25 power penalty immediately, regardless of how many times it consecutively proc'd. This is of great concern to me considering my build focused on utilizing -power abilities such as Tykon's Rift and Siphon Energy and Polaron Weapons. I would take another look at how this mechanic can be tweaked and help justify an Admiral skill point investment. An Idea would be to make this a limiter on the energy allocation for a defined duration rather than a one time subtraction of power on proc. Or make the effect similar to Energy Siphon in that the proc adds that deducted 25 to your own power bands.

Also The UV texture maps of the Recon Science Vessels are very misaligned on the "Mission Pod" and the underside of the saucer section for all Recon Science Vessel models. It's very noticeable when applying patterns such as Virgo and Orion.

Mid Term- Signs of Life. I would like to see an active crew compliment populating my ship, just living their lives, going about their routine. See episode "Data's Day", TNG. I would also like to see all of the locales from this episode within the appropriate ships. Exploring your ship is all well and fine, but if it doesn't feel like a hundred some-odd people theoretically populate your ship, well then your ship is going to feel more empty (and lonely) than the cosmos. I want to feel like there are people living aboard my ship that I actually have an obligation to protect. That I want to protect. Just for the sake of immersion.

Long Term- Romulan Faction. Who doesn't want to decloak with a massive Warbird?

Additionally I would like to see more ship designs across all existing tiers. Excelsior Class-refit Enterprise B from Generations. Nebula and Ambassador designs, even if their looks need updating, (i'm looking at you Ambassador pylons). And additional customization options for the Klingon ships, I think we should do more than patterns here. What about simple adjustments of wing angle's? Some of us really like Bird of Prey when their wings are raised rather than lowered. Would be an easy way to distinguish yours without really changing the model.

Last thought- It would be nice to see the entire range of ships playing together in a common battle. In most star trek battles, even smaller, less capable ships were present for large scale conflicts. What if we address this with implementation of a "Refit" option. Refitting old ships to make them usuable in the next rank, and by refitting I mean expanding things such as weapon slots or console slots. I.E. As we have seen in The Wrath of Khan, a Miranda-Class starship should be able to equip both a forward and aft torpedo launcher, at least one beam array, and a dual phaser cannon, all at the same time. Obviously this isn't possible with only 3 weapon slots. We can leave things like hull points and shield strength modifiers alone, but people would find a reason to pilot a ship they enjoyed earlier in their career through a simple refit option.

Wow there's a like a million responses here. anyone care to collate them into one uber-post? Many have posted stuff that's been on my mind too, such as crafting, mission bugs etc. So I'll post some other things that occur to me (may have been mentioned, but didn't have time to review 100 pages!)

Short Term:
  • Far better pathing for bridge-crew npcs (they get stuck a lot)
  • More funtional bridge, customized dedication plaques etc, a console that visitors to the bridge can access perhaps to bring up information about ship and its crew etc
  • Better 'info' button to 'inspect' other players, with access to viewing slotted hardware and other stats
  • 'View your Name' doesn't work in the options. Please, I want to see my ship's name and my toon's name displayed on screen and hovering above me.
  • Far superior animation for toon movement, 'jittering' and slow-motion running when colliding with an object is pretty poor for the sophistication of 2010
  • Tanking. Cruisers are utterly broken.
  • Destroy all gold spammers, quickly and decisively!

Mid term:
  • Much more diversity in the appearance/layout of ground locations, particularly starbase interiors and bases. Many are almost identical. - and are scaled way too big. They dont feel right at all. Some of those ceilings must be like 20 feet high.
  • There are too many 'cute' and convenient references to TV trek crews and their episodes - Jadzia Dax of DS9 did this in 2370, McCoy of The Enterpise did that in 2269 etc. Please tone this down. One would think that 200 odd years of starfleet only consisted of the few USS Enterprises, oh and the Voyager, and the station DS9.
  • Please can we have mission rewards visible and reviewable AFTER we accept it - ie listed under the mission details in the mission log
  • How about some onboard ship episodes? A crisis within the crew, a defector, a collaborator, a mysterious murder to solve etc...? I would also want access to other areas on my ship!

Long-term:
  • More content.
  • Space - bigger please.
  • More content
  • Other mmos have housing. Can I have a captain's quarters please? (accessable also to my fleet friends to visit)
  • A completely NEW playing class! We have cruisers, science ships, escorts. I want another option: DESTROYERS. Science ships should be the predominant buffers, Destroyers the fast attacking debuffers, in strength and size midway between cruisers and Escorts.
