Short Term:
  • Balance Defiant Retrofit to other T5 escorts
Much more turnrate and the only disadvantage are a few hundred shield points less? You must be kidding, you barely stand a chance as normal escort against a retrofit Defiant if the captains are equal and that's frustrating!
If you don't want players to captain fleet or advanced escorts remove them with the next patch or balance this

the links in my signature...

"like-to-see BO-options" and "DC-Merits after DC-XP" might be both short-term...

term of "Daily SF-Academy Training-Mission" depends to the planned BO-store,
i'd still prefer to see such a solution instead of any kind of "just" a store...

"Nighshift-BOs" might be mid-term...

You already have the D-7 Model in the game (City on the Edge of forever) Make it buy-able and upgradeable to your level so you can take it in combate.... Have it as an option in the C-store Retro fit along with the Tos Constitution..
And how about some Vulcan ships !!!!!
What good is a Star Trek Universe without all the old TOS ships in it to play with..
People now collect old planes and cars! With special tags and plates
As in many canon books ,the D-7 was a work horse classic..
and so many of the D-7's went missing in action or simply sold off to independents (family owned freighter companies and Simple Traders so forth) or other races for pure profit as the Klingon Empire's economy struggled throughout history
Klingon's don't have a problem selling technology as long as the Klingon's assume there military will have the upper hand..So it's not un-realistic to see a D-7 flying around the galaxy without a Klingon Captain behind the bridge...

re: Enemy player contact ( an open pvp idea)

Open pvp based system using the Enemy Signal Contact base

Currently if you come across an enemy signal contact you either get auto pulled in, or have an option if it's already been hit or once you enter have an option to instantly leave

If that toggle is out on players it would give open pvp, when 1 faction comes across another it would crump them in an empty signal contact map, with an icon in sector space indicating a battle, people coming across that would have an option to enter.

If people don't want to enter or be pulled in ( even i alot of times try to avoid the roaming contacts ) they could just use the toggle to disable open pvp, resulting in pvp via the queue.

The maps for the enemy contact maps are huge, easily able to handle a large number of ships, with random spawn points like the space arena maps, it would limit spawn ganking.

This player signal contact would also allow the ability of Fleet vs Fleet battles as there is no queue, and once 1 person hits it, its a fixed point in space that anybody can hit.

The ideal location is obviously the only place Feds and klinks come across each other, the neutral zone, because this area is accessible by all levels, anybody with the toggle can enter, a Lt6 wants to help his fleet mates, they have the option.

Also in space battles variety is limited to a persons current level, with the enemy contact people of various levels can work together, allowing the full ship list all levels, so instead of a battle being mostly Gal's, defiants, and intrepid, there would be much more visual variety, giving more of a Battle feel ( for example at Wolf359 during the initial Borg invasion, there was federations full ship list, both old and new at the battle )

The same system can be adjusted for ground, but obviousy a planet is fixed, away teams added to the battle adds a more epic feel

Went into the pvp section of the sto forums couple minuts ago, saw something like this as a post in the open pvp thread, so somebody already had the idea couple days ago

But i still hope for it

If these were already mentioned up-thread, please excuse, but it shouldn't be hard to modify some of the weapon sounds to be more accurate. That is to say, there is really no excuse why the Phaser Cannon sound isn't the same as the one used by the Defiant in Deep Space Nine. Also, there should be more differentiation between the torpedo sounds - more specifically, the Photon Torps should use at least use the sound from TMP/TWOK if nothing else, and the Quantum have their own sounds - they should be able to use them.

Devs - this is easy to do - what gives?

I agree. Actually, the D-7 should be the counterpart to the TOS Constitution class Light Cruiser for the Klingons. But I don't think Cryptic would be so nice as to include that with the already purchased Constitutions. But one can dream. [The D7 skin is part of the K't'inga skin. Now it would be nice to take that skin and make it smaller as a counterpart to the Constitution-class light cruiser. And with big old green photon/plasma balls fired from the nacelles like the blue phasers for the Constitution.]

Short Term:

Fix bugs (b'tran aid the planet, Terradome supermob, pvp queue punting on accept, no VA loot all hit the short list)

Mid-Term:
Rethink and rebalance the borg as a whole, see my sig. This doesn't seem as hard as it sounds. Just take any instance of a tac cube replace with a cube, any instance of a cube replace with a sphere, any instance of a sphere replace with a probe, any instance of a probe replace with a drone attack shuttle (they had them in voyager, they're little saucer fighter things like twice the size of the delta flyer).

Bam, suddenly when one cube shows up it's serious business, rather than ripping through the most advanced juggernauts of destruction in the entire galaxy like tissue paper. Remember when one cube attacked earth and took out 27 ships? Yeah one. Sure it's 30 years later and we've got better technology, but the borg advance FASTER than any other race, that's the entire point of their existence! /rant.

Long term:

Do what you said you're going to do regarding overhauls to sector space and exploration missions. I like what I'm hearing. If the above paragraphs are really harder than moving a few models around, move it to long term.

Mid-Term:

1. Let us fly Typhoon class, or at least make the skin available so we can use those quad-nacelles. The mesh is already in game as NPC
2. Swimsuits for Risa. It's a Beach. The NPCs have swimsuits. Let us buy them too

Hate to completely disagree, but I do. For one, you seem to love the Borg from your quote, so you may be biased. You should also remember that in that same instance the Borg ripped through 27 aged defense vessels; the Sovereign-class Enterprise-E showed up it ripped right through the Borg Cube like tissue. Besides there is no evidence that the Borg originate technology. So I'm not so sure how you could say that they advance faster, since I can find no cannon evidence to support it. They assimilate; they don't originate. The fact that fractal based encryption can boggle the Borg, show an unoriginal kind of thinking and it takes original thinking to innovate. It takes innovation to advance technology. Since there are several instances in the Star Trek mythos that show more advanced technological societies existed, the Iconians, the Hus'noq (maybe), the Hurq, the Preservers, etc., the Borg could have been their contemporary. So it can also be argued that the Borg reached their pinnacle of their technology BEFORE becoming a joined cybernetic entity and have not advanced since, other than by assimilation. Sorry to put things in a different light.
And finally, once outside Trek cannon, they get to make up whatever reasons they want.

Short Term:

I’d like to see instances you can change to be categorized (labeled) for interests in an effort to make it easier to find your fun some nights. For example a couple of instances labeled “roleplay” to help people get together in Quarks on DS9 or maybe “regular game” for nights when I don’t want to be bothered with it.

Enlarge the engine vents or nose on some of the smaller escort models to help them stick out so you can line up shots easier. It’s not a problem on the fleet escort for example, but it can take a bit more doing with the Defiant based models depending on your screen resolution.
