Short Term:

Polish & tweaking-
  • Exchange features. They are way behind normal AH standards. way too much to list here.
  • Character movement/actions are delayed. If I palm strike or throw a grenade at a guy, they fly back a full second AFTER the hit. Same with my character. This happens even when there is no detectable server lag.
  • Maps should show the name of a FACILITY/FUNCTION not a character name. (which is not useful information)
  • Mem Alpha need to explain the entire crafting system & show your progression.
  • BOff path finding is problematic & players have change they way they move/play to accommodate.
  • Costume options in Cryptic Store.
  • "server not responding" lag issues
  • graphics optimization. There are many, more visually impressive, games that run faster.
  • Astrometrics/Shield toggle


Long term:
  • NON-CRAFTING SECONDARY game. This is Cryptic's big chance to stand out from other MMOs & not just make crafting the secondary game. Maybe a Adventure/Diplomacy system where you can do entire missions with Non-combat skills. BOffs could have a 3rd set of skills or permutations of current skills that help you resolve issues & overcome obstacles in ground missions that are not combat related. It's a big oportunity.
  • STARSHIP INTERIORS & INTERIOR MISSIONS. Interiors based on ship setup & bridge style.
  • More endgame & Raidisodes
  • More loot/cool items to shoot for
  • More costume/fun options - maybe Transport FX options if we wanna look more old school? Orion women need Orion hair & Clothing.
  • more ships
  • More environment/mission verity.
  • MORE SEAMLESS TRANSITIONS. The game has SO MANY INSTANCES that there needs to be something done to make all the loading screens go away. Even if they were changed into a cut scene of the ship flying to it's destination.. things stretching/blurring out into the next zone while loading..

Short:
  • Make it easier for groups/fleets to do encoutners and fleet actions togeather, currently if there are a lot of near full isntances the group is split and you cant re-group in any instance.
  • Fleet names shown somewhere above the charecter (Name above ship above fleet for examble)
  • More PvP maps
Mid
  • Social Clothing (you have Risa, now let me get a tan on more than just my hands! )
  • More variety for females on the klingon faction (i want simular outfits to what males have please, (full dress, bulky) instaid of being limited to a single styled revealing outfit)
  • More PvP game modes (Free for all? 'King of the hill' (ground and space!) 'kill the leader' etc)
Long
  • PvP Campaing mode simular to War or POtBS
  • Player owned structures in orbit or on ground, lcoated in the exsploration areas and pvp enabled neutral zones

Second post because I needed to change a few things (stuff you guys corrected in the last patch)

My first, very first wish is "More IQ, less PEWPEW". You managed to give us a wonderful space combat system, guys, time to work on the other part of the game and you'll have an MMO no one else has.


Short :
  • Polish a few things (save uniforms, click a chair to sit, auto-holster weapon in starbase for me AND my Boffs etc.)
  • A chat with Jackalope or Zinc or (even better) with Gozer to ask a zillion questions !!!
  • Difficulty slider

Medium :
  • More variety to exploration (with minigames and diplomacy) : I'm not talking about a heavy scripted episodic mission here and there but about repeatable missions, so we can have a lot of non combat content in "bulk" missions. You need a diplomacy SYSTEM and GENERIC minigames : see this thread and this thread for examples, your beloved community did all the work for you
  • Give the fedrats a skill to disable ships and to stun for good opponents for those who don't like to kill
  • Ship interiors (with things to do there)
  • Real crafting system
  • Mini-games on Risa, at Quarks (darts, dabo, poker, all the iconic games of Startrek) so we can PVP without pewpew

Long :
  • Missions creator for the Holodeck
  • More episodic content (on a regular basis, like the TV shows, I would even buy them in the CStore)
  • Romulans
  • Persistant PVP zone

Short term:
- the pet creatures(like Targs) are sliding on the ground and they hard to recognize. They often do not face their enemy, only by chance.
- Space anomalies look strange. Floating pipes are weird. Please remove it. Let us find it by using the scanner and TAB which brings up the icon so we can see how far we are from it.
- add more planets to the star "systems".
- auto-pilot is sliding on space vector borders when travelling.
- when we are in sector space then we are already at warp. How can I warp from warp speed at the sector borders? PLease rename it to "enter" or somthing which sounds more appropriate.
- When auto pilot is on nothing is warning when an enemy signal contact is closing but it would be nice because they suck in sometimes.(audio and visual warning if possible..)
- auto targeting in ground makes no challange. Currently the fight is TAB 6,1,1,1,2,1,1,1,2,1,1,1,2,1,1,1,2 TAB ...if the grenades are targeted on me even If I move away it follows and hit.

Mid term:
- tricorder is good for everything but not for repairing something by simply pressing a button..let us choose what kind of tasks we would like to perform with the tricorder. I can imagine a question when we figure out what the prbolem is with a Starfleet staff on ground and then our engineer starts to work on it while enemy tries to prevent us repair it. Engineers need like 3-10 minutes and until then we have to keep the endless enemy waves away and when it is done then we beam up without having everythiing killed/destroyed. It is now Dark Trek along with conquering the galaxy. The quests should be complex, challanging, need the use of various tools, it would make the game more entertaining.
- free fly in every direction. This is space and we are flying spaceships not jets in the air. It can add a good tactical complexity to the game.
- verbal quest dialog. Each and every NPC, MOB are silent. it would be nice if thereis a voice who tells me what is needed to complete a quest and give us an option to turn the written text part on or off. The characters are deaf-mute, even in fight.
- quests are monotonous. The challange is in the firepower only in some space battle(PVE). The missing part is the complexity. Chain quests with increasing dificulties but nice reward would be a nice addition.
- beaming from outside in front of a door to the other side of the same door just to get into the building is strange to me. Let us use the doors, elevators. I know you are currently separating the mass (players) to instances on this way but that has to be adressed too one way or another.
- sector spaces have just a few systems in it. Space is vast. Let's not waste it
- living environment. On ground it can be birds like creatures, other strange animals, different weather conditions(sunshine, rain, snow) etc.
- probes. Part of Star Trek. We cannot see the enemy if it is behind of something or too far away. Probes could solve this issue and it would make it more Trek.

Long term:
- profession. Really need a few of them. Engineers could make engine enchancements by using specific and sometimes rare items as materials, on the same way science officers could make shield and deflectors/beams more powerful, and tacticals could make the ship/ground weapons more deadly, etc. Specialization would make it more interesting, like me as a tactical officer would go to learn how to improve the phaser firepower while other one could learn the plasma or turrets, etc. This kind of crafting depends on the chosen character of course but that is a good start. There might be other ways. Most MMO's have crafting systems which makes the players occupied for long-long hours in a single day as they want to achieve something(e.g.:better gear). and here comes my next point
- Achievement is missing. What if I reach the max level? there is no "top gear" at the current state.
- more interactive elements, quests. It is way too straight forward.
- not only end-game contents but midgame or beginner would be nice but make it challanging so the finest captains in a group with good team players in it can survive and get the loot. Need tactics in battle.
- the bridge is useless and pointless now. At least we shold get to the bridge to promote someone or do something but in this current state it is just there.
- civilizations have cities, towns, villages with civ's..We have visited only lonely places so far with enemy only in it.
- there are other ways to make a system unique besides the ring systems with rocks., Starfleet does not make contact with pre-warp civilization, so I assume they have to have ships, space stations, satellites, etc. In real space (at leats in our solar system) some planets have lots of moons, etc. Moon like objects would make the systems more realistic along with other planets even if they are not patr of the quest. Stars should be closer to the planets.
- random quests (distress calls) are missing..
- rare main events (like Borg attack was in OB), you can vary it with Jem'Hadar, species 8472 and so on.

I think Cryptic has a great opportunity to make a whole new system of MMO play. I called it Adventure/Diplomacy but something like that. Making a cool ground game where our BOffs could carry tools or items instead of(or swap to) weapons & use a new(or alternate) set of skills made just for Adventure/Diplomacy. Having an Engineer fix part of a ship after having your Sci Off heal an angry Orion's daughter, whom your Tactical Off has convinced not to shoot the local's because their defense system shot down his ship.

There is a great chance here for Cryptic to make a GOOD Adventure/Diplomacy engine. I hope they take it.

Short Term:

Auto-fire for energy weapons. I am an escort pilot, and shooting my cannons, is ridiculous. I am getting carpal tunnel I think. But seriously, this must be done, its like playing a rogue in WoW if you had to swing manually.

Explain stuff better. I have an item that gives +12 spacial anomaly on my ship. I ASSUME it gives me better results when I scan an anomaly. However, I shouldn't be guessing. I don's know what half my skills really do, that's unacceptable.

Mid Term

Fix the whole stupid system at memory alpha. This includes explaining things. I was buying Large Hypo's thinking it was a matter if spending enough data with her. I look it up online after spending 100+ of each of the first tier red things, and I am completely shafted. I feel EXTREMELY angry at this. Almost as mad as the auto-fire issue.

Long term

A WHOLE LOT OF POLISH. I played wow when it first came out, and that **** was broken too, every game releases too early. Thats fine, just make it work, and put in auto-firing damn it.

Also don't put in death penalties, they are stupid, pride damage is enough.

Few simple (Sounding) options to add to "Video settings"

1-Turn on/off engine trails or slider to adjust their intensity or option to choose which trails it shows. Or all of these on all ships and/or my ship. Client side only naturally.

Personally trail from impulsedrive disturbs me most.

2-Turn on/off shield indicators on all ships amd/or my ship (Only clientside also)


3-Option to select what is visible in sector space. I have seen some screenshots where all alse expect backround space, ships, npc's and planets/stations/systems were turned off. If only you could hide all those grids, borders, tradelanes etc isector space would really feel much more space instead of a map.

We are already paying to play the game and to make sure that cryptic keeps on top of STO to run smoothly. Hopefully if they fix all the current issues, the only thing they would need to do is make sure there is enough room on a regular basis and keep adding content. I am sure there is enough people playing so as to not have to pay for anything else.

I only have one request.

Asteroids, do we really need them arround almost every planet we have?

Now I dont mind a few, but hundreds?

For me they are not a performance issue as I am blessed with a quad core cpu and dual x-fire graphics cards (I know games only use 2 cores in general). There are those I'm sure who are not as lucky, for which they may have a performance issue, in my opinion an unnessesary issue.

I'm not asking for them to be removed, some players will love them, some players will hate them.

But some players (perhaps the majority) might like the choice in the video options to slide a bar up and down to select the asteroid field density....

I do realise that there are there to give a movement effect in the vastness of space, but really, I personally do not think we need so many.

Night of a million suggestions

Short/medium:
1. Comprehensive exchange search functions
2. Full authority auto-fire control
3. rebalance cruisers, find them a new role or something.

Long:
1. full dimension space flight
2. more of the galaxy
3. a channel for fan submitted content (doesn't interfere with main story arc)
