Does that mean you've played the realm online? I love that game, it's still goin' with it's dedicated playerbase ya know? 500 people isn't much, but for a game that's 15 years old? It's quite amazing.

Anyway, off-topic. It's nice to see someone view the game as enjoyable. Because it is, I just recently got my Heavy Cruiser and my god. The fun just doesn't stop, there is absolutely nothing more satisfying than going broadside with something else and unloading the fury of 4 phaser banks right onto one of his poor shields. Just to call a wingman from my fleet, whom is flying a escort to completely devastate his now exposed hull.

Cryptic has done a beautiful thing with the classes and ship types. It allows for varied and diverse gameplay. And there is so much to do, the storylines are fantastic and I will never grow old of exploring strange new parts of the galaxy.

Space truly is the final frontier, and this MMORPG has taken me to a world where I can immerse myself in a familiar setting and story, yet still feel like I'm fleshing out my own epic tale and not be one of the million others.

I still have my EQ characters.

That's right. First EQ.

As for this game? I know EVERYONE is sick of hearing it, and it is the troll's bane...but.

DAMN. It is STILL new. Nothing launches 100% complete. Ever.

Is it right? No.

Does it suck? You betcha.

Is it pretty much the norm? Sadly, yes.

My normal rule is to avoid BETAs and to not start an MMO for 6 months after it comes out. I broke it with STO because I had nothing to play, but daaaamn. This game is not as bad as most of the nae sayers are...nae saying. You want a crappy game? Try Vanguard on launch. Try MATRIX on launch.

Try Conan.

That's right. I said it. Conan sucked.

Me?

I'm enjoying the HELL out of this game.

It is different - has that "not the same old MMORPG" feeling to it, has a million customization options for characters, crew, and ship, and has me wanting to play night and day - something I've lost in the last few years of gaming.

I think you guys must have DL'd a different game or something, because I'm having a blast.

Coyote?! Holy crap, I loved your EQ2 stuff on TTH.
And yes, if you're actually enjoying this game, and foolish enough to put that in print, somebody that you'll never meet in life will make some insulting comment that they hope might actually cause you to give half a crap about their opinion. You know the drill.

OH, haha! Omg! You had me in stitches, you almost made me believe that you actually played MXO at launch. Oh... wait? Did you? I think I did, it's all a terrible, terrible blur to me. Something along the lines of getting in melee with one mob, and getting shot down by the others.

You should mention thats OPINION. *** was pretty, actually tried soemthing new with combat, had some interesting missions (nothing new I must admit) and the first 20 levels where exceptional, all voice and most missions pretty fun. I will agree at about 40 the game started to suck, but I have heard alot of its fixed and the game is much better after 40 (and all around) unfortnalty for me, being burned so bad on content 40+ has made me stay away (and Im a die hard Conan fan). Not the right forum for it, but why did you hate *** so bad?

Side Note, hehe EQ, still one of the best, by todays standards way to hard (err was) and not pretty but when it came out, WOW, there just simply was nothing like it. Raids in todays games should take a look at those old ones in EQ early days, that was a challange. CH rotations, perfect pulls, 2 hours to regroup, then 2 more to get to bodies.. errr.... I know, it dont sound like it, but it was fun back then!

I have been through many launches and have come to the conclusion that tearing apart a game and its community on the forums IS the game for many people.

STO is lacking a bit in that regard. I have been parked outside Gonolda system for days just queuing PvP with no end in sight. I honestly cannot figure out what to do beyond that (Klingon). Any suggestions, besides admiring the games uniqueness, pretty graphics and character customization?
i heard hellgate had lots of content gaps. in GW you can hit 20 (max level) in a day. still i t has what? five expansions that each add their own pve for 1-20?

it's true klingons need pve content. i think most klingons that are playing that faction have been aware of that since at least OB. since cryptic has talked about the lack of content in that area since well before CB,

if you want pve right now, play your fed toon. there's plenty of content to level on. then come back to your klingon toon later or when you want to pvp.
