This will seem strange but, I just reached 11 and my understanding is I get a new ship, cool an all wonderfull. But I'm not sure i understand the ships correctly.

Wen you start game you are an Eng, Science, or tactical officer, got that. But I was under the assumption if you where a Science offcer your ship would be a Science ship? Now it appears that is wrong? Everybody starts with the same ship (which you can change to one of the 3 available at the Starbase) but they are all crusiers? When I go and look at them, other then looks and names i see no "type" so I am assuming htey are all the same type. Worng-right?

So at 11 do I get to pick a type of ship then? I keep hearing Science or tactical.. and had somewhat thouhgt that was ship type too, is it only your Powers (as a science officer i have science powers) but can pilot a DPS type ship?

Am so utterly confused and last night when i made 11 SOL was the game stopping "server not responding" zone in so i called it a night.

You can take any type of ship you want of the three. Though you get certian bonuses for choosing a ship in your class.

When you start you are on a Light Cruiser. When you get to Lt Commander you can pick either a science, escort or cruiser. Doesnt matter what kind of officer you are.
