STO PvP is between very different factions. Let's go over those differences:

Klingons
- Intended to attack
- Intended to ambush
- Sacrifice survivability for firepower
- Ships designed for one on one engagements

Federation
- Intended to defend
- Intended to support one another
- Emphasize robust construction and cooperation
- Ships designed to be flexible and sturdy

Go with your strengths, and exploit our weaknesses. We are certainly doing that for ourselves, but we've had a bit of a headstart since many of us were in CB and OB (at 10% of your gaming population, we Klingons could very well have all been in closed and open beta).

bollocks. main survivability is provided by bof abilities. not the ship construction.

Tactical escort are still not even close as agile as BoPs.

They aren't suppose to be . The advantage is the higher hitpoint and the firing arc's.

I think OP isnt playing T4+ because he did miss the part of 5 vorchas in klingonball extending shields on each other and using beams of doom agains 5 escorts without cloak

No... Your ships overall contain more hull, science ship sensors, access to much stronger shields, and balanced weapon slots... Your beam boats for the most part, so working as a team on the lines is imperative. The OP was right on the money... May be hard to take advice from a Klingon... But due to CB and OB experience and strife; many of us are very helpful and only trying to make this a better game for all.

This

The food chain is BO abiltiies > dmg > base stats of hull/shields

somebody using hull hitpoints as base of an argument has no idea of the game mechanics. Especially if someone tells me that 20% hull is an adequte tradeoff for bad agility and beeing completely exposed 100% of the time.
As soon the shields are down the game is over. The hull takes massive damage in comparison to the shields and fed escorts would need about 200% hull to make up for the lack of cloak and agility.

the BOff abilities are thesame for both factions, so it still boils down to ship stats, if you and i have the same BOFFs at the same level, fed ship stats are better
