"Teamwork and tactics don't really come into play and ground combat remains an unchallenging, repetitive and random fracas" & "As ever with Cryptic, the whole thing is based on a head-scratchingly bizarre, unintuitive and poorly-explained RPG system" pretty much sums up my opinion so far.

About right so far imo.

Cryptic have a decent base product with a long way to go. Did get quite a bit wrong imo as well, but there ya go.

So far, I'm ok to sub to it, and that is all that matters to me. and them, no doubt. When I'm not I will stop.

I say "in my opinion" or just "IMO" a whole lot, it tends to go a long way toward keeping the peace when I express them.

I didn't notice anything there that was factually wrong. Maybe you disagree with some of it, but that's what opinions are for.

I am curious to know which parts of the review you found to be inaccurate.

That's an ad hominem, and not really a base for argument.

Very accurate and good review I think.

I doubt that STO will get any better reviews than that in it's current state.

Still I enjoy, but for how long, remains to be seen.

They will probably re-review it in a month or two. They did with Age Of Conan, and actually awarded it a higher score.

Despite all of these complaints, those hordes of starship captains are quite happy. They may not have many different things to do, and the missions and UI may be rather buggy, but there does seem to be enough content to sustain them - at least until the endgame - and even at its worst that content is knockabout fun with more instant appeal, and more suitability for casual, short-session, low-commitment play than most MMOs.

Man, I just love it when publications talk down to me! The condescension in that last paragraph is palpable.

lol, well written?

WTH is Jury-Rigged? That's more than a keystroke mistake away from "Jerry Rigged".
