I understand the differences between HYT I, II, and III from reading the forums, but can't seem to establish what the rapid fire difference is... the tooltip of the skill obviously being unhelpful, unfortunatly.

As far as I can tell the only difference is that they take up a different slot on your BO.

If someone else knows something else let me know, but using Rapid Fire I and Rapid Fire II increase each Dual Heavy Cannon cooldown to 4 shots fired instead of 2, so I don't think there's any difference with their effect.

Seems there are a few skills like this, including Reverse Shield Polarity.

Perhaps the per hit damage reduction is decreased?

when you activate the ability and hover over one of your cannons you can estimate the demg dealt with it.
if you now compare the number difference it is extreamly low smth like 40dps more between I and III when having a delve dps of around 1800...

Apparently only the duration is different? I also know they dont "share" a cooldown, so if you have Rapid Fire I, II, and III you could in effect ALWAYS be under the effect of Rapid Fire.. as it lasts 15 seconds, and has a 45 second cooldown.. once fully upgraded.. 15 x 3 = 45:p

um.... no. each one has a global cannon effect cooldown of 20 seconds, with a 5 second downtime between them if properly trained and chained.

also: rapid fire one does about 50 less dps than rapid fire three,

You only need two Rapid Fires to chain them. With two Rapid Fire's you will always have one up or be on a 5 second downtime.
