The T2 and T3 ships are both SIGNIFCANT improvements over the previous tier in terms of what kind of abilities you have available to you.

I love the way the Miranda looks in game but I have to say the light cruisers are fairly boring compared to the later ships mainly because you only have access to basic weapon types at that levels (I require tetryon plox) and a few boff powers.

Got rid of the Light Cruiser on one of my characters in favor of the GS Constitution, mainly 'cause I couldn't get the name to change so I could give my Miranda's name to the Constitution..... But I still have 'er on my other character for old time's sakes.

# 13 Shuttles anyone...

If you started in a shuttle and then were in the Miranda say for the last 5 levels of Lietenant, then it wouldn't be as bad. Originally, I thought this was to be the cause, you would be an Ensign and start in some type of shuttle (there are various kinds, so there could have been a Tactical, Engineer, and Science shuttle). Be able to get used to the game and run various (shuttle appropriate missions) and then by the end of that upgrade to the Miranca. I agree the Miranda is a horrible ship and I was so very happy to get out of it and upgrade to my first escort. I wanted to send the Miranda into a star, but didn't have the option of obliterating it....

while I don't really care for the miranda per se...I like the ship but when it comes to one on one combat with other ships its good aginst matched or lower ships but any thing larger you may need two...over all I like it but feel it may be lacking in some area...but as the game went on I have fitted it with heavier weps and it gets the job done...

The Miranda is a very forgiving first ship. A bicycle with training wheels, if you will. I find it a very tolerable ship for a starting character.

Yeah, I don't like the fact that the Miranda Class is slow. When I was fighting the Borg, I was trying to race towards it and about the time I got there, the Borg Cube has already been destroyed. It's an ok ship, it's just slow. >.>

You can't have two ships in your possession with the same name. Change the name of your Miranda first or decommission it, THEN you can change your Constitution's name to whatever your Miranda's name was.

Stuck up, arrogant, self absorbed ...
Wait, Miranda class light cruiser you say?
Meh, it's not that bad.
And pound for pound it's the ship you'll be in for the least amount of time.
And you know you just know you wanted to tap that. Don't lie to yourself.

On topic, the Miranda class ship is pretty good. Although I've never managed to get up to T2. Not yet anyway...

You mean the Reliant didn't come with rich Corinthian leather?
