Probably more the scratches and dings from the encounter. If I remember correctly, that Miranda didn't hold up too well to the Genesis device, either.

I like the light cruisers, how they look and they were a very appropriate ship to chose for a starter ship as, if you watch the shows, they are cannon fodder. (Dominion war, two flew escort to the Defiant and promptly met their ends)

As and ensign being assigned a ship (that's crazy enough as it is) the best you could hope for is an ancient bucket of bolts. Very fitting for the situation.

From a gameplay stand point.... I hated how long we were stuck with that dman thing. My GOD! I despise it so much I decided to make my other 2 fed. chars right away to get the LC area done and over with all at once (so much agony and pain doing that over 3 times and I'm still not finished the 3rd) or I wouldn't be able to go back once I got one ship past T2. So once I have them all at T2 I'll pick one and max it out then go back to one of my others and I won't have to worry about LC ghettoness.

That being said, the LCs do have a special place, I have not gotten rid of one of mine yet, they shall stay in my ship collection on each char. They may suck in function but they went through a lot for me and pulled the job off despite their failings.

It's not a Miranda in STO it's a Light Cruiser And I LOVED mine, I RP so I was RPing the ship and the crew and they became a family But now I have my Constitution that I can use, so that's really nice for a 2nd character.

(I prefer to have my power directed to weapons, so I can hit harder) The Miranda reminds me of your stereotypical "Grunt-Type" Mobile Suit--it is the Cannon Fodder sent into a battle so that you have something disposable for the enemy to trash!!!!!

Who else hates the Miranda-Class and its status as a "Cannon Fodder" Starter Ship?

I'm a big fan of the film Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, so when I created my character and I didn't get the Miranda-class vessel, I changed that as soon as I could. If anyone hasn't seen it yet, please do so ASAP.

It's a starter ship. It's not going to be the best. That being said, I really enjoy the Excalibur class I have now.
