Beam firing arcs. The main argument against the technical feasibility of this was that the shield system wasn't designed for it, but we see that it can work every time a beam weapon or turret fires directly above or below you. Based on where you are relative to a center line determines what shield side gets hit. So we know the shield system will work for it.

Why we need it:
For one it seriously cripples the fun factor on day to day events. So many enemies and anomalies are positioned so far above and below you that it becomes a very taxing chore to scan or collect things. Then of course there's loot drops. I've seen loot despawn on a Galaxy corkscrewing to get it. The anomaly thing practically seems like the devs torturing us..

Then there's cone firing arcs, even the nimble escort struggles with bringing it's weapons to bare on all these awkwardly high and low enemies.

We don't need to be able to somersault, (though that would be nice), but being able to fly straight up and down would make moving and playing so radically more enjoyable for everyone it seems bizarre the game didn't ship this way.

Lastly, for the canon nazis I argue that A) you can't just throw out a few episodes where it happens because you don't like it. B) The common argument of "structural integrity" not being able to take it, or "inertial dampeners" not being able to take it is utterly invalid. There would be no difference in regards to the ship's design for turning up or down vs side to side. Not to mention these ships are so asininely strong. People don't seem to be able to wrap their head around it. A photon torpedo is an ANTIMATTER weapon, and yet a hull can take a hit from it without totally destroying the ship. That's so far above modern material strength it's insane. Even a sovereign maneuvering like an escort wouldn't be close to breaking it's hull.

You know in my experience watching Star Trek I have never once heard the words "Firing Arc"

And i have watched in more than one episode on more than one series when they fire phaser beams they clearly have a 360 degree firing ability as they circle around the saucer section of the ship.

.
The muzzle of the BoP's actual guns are not included in the 45deg cone fore cannons. Can you believe that..its possible to actualll have the front of the guns facing the target..even touching, and they not fire. Apprantly the cone doesnt pass through the guns...but some distance out in front.

No they don't. Examine a model of a Galaxy etc and you will see a number of phaser arrays. Some forward, some aft, some on the top, some on the bottom. Combined they give 360 degree coverage but no single bank does that.

And Klingon ships are often "coming around to fire weapons" because they have mostly forward firing disruptor's.
