I've read the info I can find on fleets and am still a bit confused on what being in a fleet gives me as a player. Also, I don't pvp, does that mean I can't help any fleet I join to grow?
Also, what is this team thing? Is there any benefit to doing a mission as a team instead of solo?
Probably silly questions, not been playing that long though!
ps - people occasionally contact me via chat with purple text, how do I reply? Thanks
Being in a fleet (aside from the social aspect) gives you access to fleet stores where (if your fleet has unlocked them, and you have permission) you can perchace elite items and ships. And you don't have to pvp to be useful to your fleet. you can donate resources to fleet projects to build the fleet base. (thus unlocking elite stores)
Teams are basically just running a mission along side a friend or team mate. You can take or leave it, whatever your own preference.
And to reply to people in chat just type their "name@handle" before your message.
Hope this helps.
It's not my fault if you feel trolled by my Disco ball... Sorry'boutit.
And no repetitiveepic, I'm not sorry for any of my posts.
fleets give you the ability to not only find people to do STFs and other PVE queues with (helps you avoid noobs in the queues) but they also can teach you how to not be a noob in the queues. most fleets also have their fleet stores, which is how you get alot of the most powerful endgame gear. you have to be in a fleet to buy stuff, even if you get an invite to a friends starbase, you cannot buy if your not in a fleet.
as far as teams, i assume you mean for story missions and random side missions, not the PVE queue. having a team when doing missions will make it go faster, as two people can do separate things and make the mission alot easier and faster, especially if the other person knows what they're doing. it's also usually more fun to fight with a friend.
another way to respond to the purple text (Personal messages) is to use the backspace key instead of the enter key to activate chat (only works if you dont currently have the chat selected).
using the backspace key will automatically insert the /tell person@handle of the last person who PMed you. this can make conversations over PM alot faster.
