If you create a new character and (in the room new characters start in) you hop from one instance to the next, you're bound to run across numerous default-make characters (blonde human female is the default character result if you just hit "next" to get through each option in character creation) spamming the "Scan Area" function over and over again. In some cases there are several of them in the same instance doing this. I'm not sure if these are players or gold-sellers, but they sit there spamming that action for hours. Why?
My assumption is that the function is being performed through a macro, perhaps for the purpose of remaining online and avoiding the disconnect from being AFK. You might want to check into it. Sometimes I get the "no response from server" message when entering one of the copies of this particular instance that contains players doing this.
if they look like they are afk boting, they most likely are. although i dont understand why they would need the spam the scan action so quuckly, mmo dont usually disconnect you until you are afk for at least, about, 10 minutes.
This is the early stage, they will be testing how the control software works, and seeing what they can get away with.
The macro's will get more complex as they experiment, and you'll start to see more traditional "bot" behaviour in a while, i'm sure.
