The standard boilerplate response. Every other MMO has had crappy start therefore it is accepted.
That is the problem, the public has now accepted mediocrity as the standard and flame anyone who expects excellence.
Fanbois may begin flaming now, your mediocrity awaits.
Unbelievable: The same discusion is happening in another area of the forums. If you new ahead of time and I'm not saying I didn't complain about the issues iether, but if we all new that these kind of games would happen with severs and such, then why by the game in the first place I wasn't totaly stupid in buying the game not knowing there would be issues but I bought it cause I'm a fan of StarTrek. Well a medioker fan that is.
We need to cool our heads off a bit let them do what is needed to get it working again. And I said it in one forum and someone here just said it. That the weahter in the east coast is having major problems right now. 30 inches of snow is to be falling down along with waht they may already have in other areas. So with the weather going bad and Severs work through fiber-otics and cable were going to have severs down here and in other areas of the U.S but there are issues that are happening with in the game as well so. Just be paitent with Cyptic S, there doing all they can I'm sure to address the issue at hand they didnt figure that there would be so many people would buy the game.
Seriously, Cryptic? Server Crashes from 8pm to 11pm, and then server maintenance down from 3am to 5am almost every night...? Don't you know how many copies of the games were sold and you have no idea of how to manage servers to the number of players?
EVE takes there servers down EVERY night for 1 hour from 11:00 to 12:00 GMT, so you are just really blowing the expected downtime portion of your argument out of proportion by trying to make it sound so unheard of.
And just how many cars also fail within the first 30 days of use? I'm going to have to utter the words "Factory Recall" to make the point. Spit happens.
The point is "not every car works", same goes for ANYTHING to do with computers, even more so when you realise that there are 10,000s of confgurations out there suddenly interfacing with the game's code and hardware.
You would pay 4-5 figures for a 24/7 Internet connection in the first place.
I saw a guy whining on my ISP's forum how his local DSLAM was down and that he expected 24/7 service. The ISP engineer offered to sell him a business class plan. I lol'd.
it did? entierly like you wanted? cause all new cars I ever had had kinks in them (other then one).. tires had to be tightened to even on a couple...
hell oil would even need to be filled... imagine that...
no not all cars work 100% of the time when new... they need repairs...
sure the repair might be free... but do you get money back for your cars "downtime" hell no... compensate that...
same thing here... repairs dont cost us **** but we arent getting payed for the downtime either.... just like the car you claim works 100% of the time
