It doesn't bother me at all. This is the first MMO I have ever joined on the ground floor, and I still have no problems with it. Anyone with even a barely passable knowledge of computers can surely realize that rough spots will need to be ironed out, particularly inside of the first week. Someone expecting perfect function after two days really needs to step back down to earth and get themselves together. Look at Blizzard. They're HUGE, and yet every version of WoW that has come out, has experienced server crashes and buggy software. From what I've seen, Cryptic is nowhere near as big as Blizzard, and yet they've put out a good game that will only get better.
It's all a part of that instant gratification, that entitlement that it must work perfectly right out of the gate. It's a very selfish, very "me-me-me" attitude to take. People have short memories, it seems.
That being said, this does give me an opportunity to meet you folks and chat a bit.
Ultima Online, EQ, City of Heroes/villains, World of ********, Fighter Ace and several others I never played after the first 30 days. Add up all the down time I have been through divide by 100 and have the whiners face THAT! They would eat their own heads!
I've been searching for a new MMO since I burned out in WoW. In STO I may have found it. I am becoming a flyboy junkie. I use my mouse to control my starship and view the battles as dogfights. Really is a fun POV.
STO downtime is no problem because as a dad of three, I am always finding new ways to make my kids, especially the two in high school, wish they were in a galaxy far far....oops.
