I am running a XPS 730 with 4g ram.... 1g video .... 2x GPUs on vista 64 ultimate OS.

system runs great for WoW.. but on STO about every 30-40mins the game client freezes and i can kill the process but the process wont die... like a zombie process in unix.... and doesnt release the memory of about 1g.... when game is exited on screen (not in process list) if i restart game... my whole system freezes..... if i try to reboot the system freezes.... each time the game client freezes i have to slam the system. I have all video drivers and directx is up to date.....

so what the hey??

1st, you cant really compare a setup that runs wow to a setup that runs STO. Wow can run on a 6 year old computer with no problems. STO needs pretty up-to-date hardware to run well.
Can you post your dxdiag log? As a system freeze means theres something wrong with your comp. especially if you cant terminate the process.
