In every game there are nice guys and there are je rks. That goes without saying, but it seams to me that there are those out there trynig to be nice guys without realizing that their actions are not so nice. Mainly I am refering to the sensor contacts.

If you see someone in trouble, help them out and you're a nice guy. If you see someone compitently taking down the enemy, insert yourself into that fight and you take away the other player's chances of gettting descent loot. Unless you are an uber escort, you're not going to out dps the other guy so there's only a small chance that you will steal his loot. Either way, the moment you join the fight, you make the fight a cake walk and the loot turns to nothing. I guess that's okay if your intentions are to be a jer k, but make no mistake; when someone is about to single handedly take down a battleship and is expecting a good pay-off, they're not happy when you interfere and they end up with nothing.

I'll have to blame this on Cryptic... Their loot mechanic really and utterly SUCKS. Most modern MMOs out there use a taging mechanic, where the first person that does something to the mob, tags it. I really have no idea why Cryptic decided not to implement this mechanic. It's absurd.

Also, fleet actions, everyone should be automatically teamed up. So all the loot is distributed between all members. Loot problem solved.

Because it's an absolutely rubbish mechanic that would allow me to go around fleet actions tagging everything I can damn well find in my cruiser while the rest of the unstoppable player blob of doom grinds the enemy to dust one by one.

well actually tagging wouldnt exactly work either, id be so ****ed if i was about to attack a BS then some guy came in, hit it first and then every otehr ship quickly and then did nothing and got all the loot...

loot works better when your in a team as you can set it to Free For All in the options so anyone in your team can grba the loot, the issue is with auto teaming that would suck but with mates is fine...

and as for fleet actions, its got many problems, mainly it only rewards escorts, if your a cruiser or science your buggered as its based on DPS and not the fact you've actully ehaled or benefited people plus they are **** easy anyway and my god totally boing... i;d be happy to never do a fleet action again in a cruiser its just that dull, its basically 100 fly swatters hitting one fly at once... the onyl way for a good challenge is fly of from everyone and hope to god nobody follows you...

Taggin does work because the ship would attack the player that tagged it, bother no one else. Unless you decided to help him, that is up to you.

It may not help the multiplayer aspect of it, but it's way better than the current model. I can go through a whole fleet action without getting a single drop.

The second option I proposed is probably better. Autogrouping, and all the loot that drops is on round robin. Much more fair at least.

I'm just about there myself. I try to break away, but they just keep following me. I'm getting to the point which I can only describe as gamer road rage. It's time for me to walk away from fleet action for a while.

A cruiser can take the heat and you ignored the fact that other players will be smashing their way through the enemy group anyway, those ships won't last long.
